Saturday [6 to 10]

(0921) In reply to IYE … I do hope Steve hasn’t “croaked it” white water rafting or skydiving. Also Vice Prez Andy … those balls are lethal.

10. Surfeit of Moo today

… a fine situation to be in (Moo and Eros … yeeeesssss 🤔):

9. France

8. It’s one thing knowing

… it’s another airtightening a case and arresting:

7. This new page thingy

… Isilme does not like me using the term “thingy” or “thing” but the miscreant in me says that sometimes, the context cries out for a thingy or thing. Just as DAD does not like me being fraught … it has to be something being fraught “with” something.

This is my explanation at the top of the current Patron Page:

This post is intended for our tavern patrons (our intel droppers). But it’s also for any communication from a “goodie”. Naturally, a “baddie” is deleted and added to the blacklist. So yes, it’s a baddie honeypot. Here’s the cunning plan:

It might be an idea for me to open a page late evening, every evening, “just in case” and the default is “comments closed” overnight. At the same time, I look at that day’s page … if blank or no need to keep, delete to keep the number of pages down … if important, it stays up.

Next morn, upon awakening, I come to the page, do what needs doing, reset to “comments open” for the day. Rinse and repeat. Sound ok?

6. Enid* or “Babe”, as I call her

She does not trap too many flies or bees or wasps (two of these a plague around here, the bees are ok) … however … and this is a big however … I’ve noticed the wasps paricularly tend to avoid the window opening. I’ve seen them gather in their dozens, poised to divebomb, they do … but at the last moment, they swoop and fly back towards the nest.

There’s also a window trap. If they get in elsewhere, they generally head for the sunroom window and sadly, expire around about Enid Babe but sadly, Enid herself does not get to digest many critters. However, she laps up mineral water, positively thrives on it. So do I (with tonic … HCQ).

There’s a theory which says that she then mutates into a ravening triffid but it sounds like some’s canard to me so far.

    Sounds like a plan!👍

  2. It looks like she is getting enough. You would not believe the amount of energy they get from just one capture. She is clearly catching something. You could also put the dead flies in and trigger a trap. Providing it is freshly dead then there will be enough moisture in it for Enid. I wouldn’t bother though as she looks fine.
