Monday [16 till close of play]

(1619) Almost evening all.

19. An op ed at a strange time for me

Just been looking at Mon 18 below, sent my text and url to Sarah in Alberta … what the heck am I even doing awake again, having said goodnight to various close people and with obligations awaiting all day Tuesday? Her electricity supply was down by the way in her community.

Answer is that I must do this. Against that is the old saying that one of the first signs of madness is the feeling that one’s work is of immense importance to all. Work? I’m just putting things up using soc-med to maybe 3000 maximum, though if all outlets are used, that becomes around 20k, including X impressions. Drop in the ocean of horrors. Horrors … hyperbole? Well I have a report about a truck stop in Brooklyn, Iowa where, of 40 drivers, 5 speak English.

I was sent a bowel cancer kit, never asked for it, have said over and over I’m having no exploratories as that part of me is in good nick … well let us just probe around they say … why? Tend people who are sick for goodness sake. Besides, what chance encountering a well trained western doc? Plus my chances of being genuinely sick are hugely increased … and so on.

All right, without letting on ages … in the last century, near the end, my mother died, my father decades earlier. Was I aware that it was the end of an era? Nope. I thought my life was just getting into gear in fact, gallivanting around the world with m’best gal by m’side. Irresponsible? No sense of end dates? Of consequences? Maybe.

And now here am I nearing their terminal ages and what am I doing? Attempting to give some sort of moral support to as many as I can get round to. Stop, stop … why? Who the heck am I? Why am I not in a rocking chair, with a nurse feeding me meds? D’you see what I’m leading to here? Andy is now vice-chairman of a sports club. Steve’s just run his first nightly MftWC since his return. Why? Why run Mon 18 for example? Just whom can it reach and even then, what can they do? Back to the Agatha Christie quote:

And is our function to affect policy which is causing the destruction of western society? Or might it also be that at least there is some sort of haven still about, some sort of tavern, with some deluded eccentric as the landlord? And further … almost no readers know the three or four people I just dropped in on … one at the end of her tether, I’m thinking genuinely so.

I’m getting on for about two and a half decades now quite irrelevant in this new world … I never saw it happening. Suddenly, still compos mentis (we can argue that point) and not physically bad as long as I can escape interferers … suddenly I’m thinking … what should I actually be doing right at this moment? Sleeping? Did it help those four people at all? Only they can answer that.

I mean, this could get a bit religious now, could it not? What is my function in this disintegrating society? Euthanasia? To be murdered as another useless eater? Stuff that and stuff those evil muvvas. No, my task is to offer what little I can … at least I think it is my task. What else? Sit twiddling my thumbs?

I am currently in a comfortably bourgeois situation against all odds – salmon dins, fridge bulging with food … for how long? Here it gets religious again. I believe if I ditch this mission and go full-hedonist, the sustaining protection stops. Anyway, it’s an effective mindset to have. It’s 00:27, early morn … heaps of time, with a five hour sleep ahead … I can still be ready for DAD’s drop around 0530 … plenty of time.

Night night, readers. Sleep well, fellow cavemen and women.

18. Bill C9 in Canada passed

What has that to do with us? Why have I woken from my sleep, knowing there’s a list of commitments tomorrow which I must be awake for and I’ve already said goodnight to my close people? And her voice is at a difficult pitch? Yet all of us in western nations really must see the sort of thing Burnham and Milliband et al have in mind? Really have in mind?

One of the most iniquitous bills in western parliamentsry history:

17. Military ballots for Biden

16. Russia and Europe

11. Steve

Spotlight on the older male – I’d hold a door open for either of these two ladies..

Problem with the second is she seems to prefer ladies, Steve.

Monday [6 to 10]

(0849) Tomorrow is a quite disrupted day. Any blogging I’ll have to do early, I become useless about 10 a.m. till whenever because there are tasks involving others, RL things. I’ll attempt to gather today but we’re in the here and now and something stored loses currency quickly. So all readers please note … messy blogging tomorrow. Today is donestic duties day. (1012)

7. This is by no means just the one way, this issue

For a start, young fillies dressing like that are going to provoke men and any old style grandmothers and mothers would have told daughters and fathers would have enforced dress standards. And where are fathers today in the home?

Then we come to the priest. At least CofE allows marriage, far more normal, far better for parishioners because both sexes have a choice whom to bring troubles to. Also, it puts a rein on paedophilia.

Which then requires both to be … not Mary Whitehouse and Ian Paisley but two more normal people, with a Christian slant … which in turn gets more bottoms on pews.

This below, in my view, is not right, yet the girl will think she’s dressing fine. And please don’t try that old one of a female is not a sexual creature … of course she always was (except if of the Woke left to be honest):

I’m the last one to be waxing moral about relations, given my behaviour but I’d argue that that gives me some insight. The priest in the pic? Get a woman, mate. Otherwise, avoid the fillies.

4. Spotlight on the older male

With the most enormous respect to older males, the notion of arrogance, as in “there’s life in the old dog yet” and thinking a young filly will swoon over them, just because they have the hots for the filly … is seen in football TV panels where the males give themselves airs … but that sort of thing comes a cropper when actually tested by one or more of the fillies in RL.

My suggestion to ageing males is … age gracefully, lads, extract arrogance, extract all sexual innuendo from dealings with fillies and femmes, yet genuinely like and respect the good ones (those on our side of politics) and at least learn the ropes … also stop simping, FFS.

a) Half of women report harassment or assault at beaches as Marseille expands safety app scheme. Victims and witnesses can send geolocated emergency alerts to mediators stationed on beaches throughout the summer.

b) Germany will once again shoulder a substantial financial burden. By now, however, Germans have become accustomed to that reality. Across the world, public debt levels are approaching dangerous levels….

c) The birthplace of Christianity is in danger of losing its indigenous Christian communities. A recent visit to Jerusalem and the West Bank revealed both the severity of their plight and the practical ways in which they can still be helped.

d) SebastianMEP Iwas just banned from entering the UK. Elected politician. Defender of girls and women. Unbelievable.

e) She Got A Big Shock.

1. Steve is back, with some interesting news

… on top of his own travels:

Heard about this .. It’s goodbye from The Conservative Woman | https://expose-news.com/2026/07/18/its-goodbye-from-the-conservative-woman/

Reminded me of this:

Kathy’s Song | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylCGvOUL938&t=5s

……

Rhoda, of Expose, writes:

Earlier this month, Kathy Gynell, editor at The Conservative Woman, announced that due to censorship and lack of funding, the outlet would be closing down on 18 July. That day, sadly, has now arrived.

In the following, Gynell says goodbye to TCW followers and welcomes them to join her in continuing the fight elsewhere:

What difference did we make? Well, we didn’t dent policy. All the destructive postmodernist and neo-Marxist thinking – campus-driven leftism, feminism, transgenderism, scientism, critical race theory, decolonisation and now Islamism – has dug ever deeper into the fabric of society. We didn’t stop this politically driven seepage but we did, I hope, create an unfettered platform for considered dissent. Importantly, we dared to dissent in an era of political correctness and in a culture of complaint.

And perhaps we were “quietly influential” in our uncompromising stance. One of TCW‘s writers wrote to me: “I regularly noticed TCW angles in the media and I suspect it played a role in giving an edge to GB News’s editorial outlook.”

I hope so. Not, sadly, over vaccines it didn’t, at the time when that really mattered. But I am sure we jolted some people out of their complacent oblivion as the country underwent a Maoist cultural revolution.

……

JH: Each of us writes, not just from our political and to a point religious perspective, but also from type of media, past perspectives … and also from our dealings with people. UHC has quite a list of soc-medders to avoid … regulars know where, newer readers can latch on.

Kathy G put all her eggs in the one basket in building and promoting her pride and joy, as part of the intrepid M25 bubble inside journos and if you find me less than effusive, it is 20% her dealings with me, 80% the very nature of the single blog today.

Tim Worstall, way back, said there was no money in blogging and for the little person oop norf, that may be so. For single blogs. Where the blogger does not put himself about. Does not look to its commercial potential, where readers must pay up for the good stuff. As Lord Toby has done.

In my case, there are many reasons, on a single blog, for yours truly not to be massive, even after 20 years.

  • Fairly unknown person, using a Biggles profile pic, flowery, educated language (not trusted by the middle to workers), too broad a catchment, suggesting something other than M25 bubble (hence no group claims me as “one of us” … not fully)
  • Shockingly poor SEO, almost a deliberate attempt not to be read, except by an exclusive non-membership (which to my mind is a fine thing), bringing in all sorts from different western lands, not always agreeing with each other, and not even caring about trifles like money nor popularity, nor online empire building
  • Certainly a public school boy in the way Bond was in Casino Royale, as noted by Vesper on the train, but almost certainly humble beginnings, plus never trying to be part of any but the society of western curmudgeons, which for a start puts off all but the most resilient and forthright women
  • A too wide catchment area, especially British and North American, with those two not necessarily liking each other’s style, manner.
  • My attitude, which one luminary described as “overweening arrogance”, sadly stemming from schooldays and bad teacher reports on just that shortcoming, plus a Rupert Lowe style “I don’t care”, plus “conspiracist, a real whack job” as noted by would be empire builders, plus Religion.

The most notable falling out that way was in 2014, when a cofounder of Orphans took his bat and ball, plus all his followers and walked out … all over a harmless little verse … Ephesians 6:12 … yet Julia, of the same secular, libertarian mindset, stuck around.

Soooo … how does Unherdables survive? For a start, not putting all the eggs in one basket. Placing different blogs in different reader pools, weaving in X (less so Gab now, sadly), networking on X, which underscores the Anglo-American bond, plus Canada and the Antipodes, plus parts of Europe, plus becoming identified with causes which might be called antiThem, antiWokeLeft … which in turn has now come into its own “time of being” in 2026.

A cruel observer might call us a mongrel site, a real rag tag hotch potch of nobodies … which actually digs deep and does uncover, due to its hardworking intel-droppers. A noBS community, actually, which does not appreciate interlopers, unless they learn the ropes and slowly join in.

What the heck have we actually got here, I sometimes wonder? Not sure but tell you what … there’s some sort of loyalty here, as long as I behave and work hard. And I, in turn, am fiercely loyal to “our” chaps and chapesses.

Back to Kathy … yes, it’s sad but soc-med moves on and we need to incorporate some of the new media, but not all. Plus no way pay-to-view. No bleedin’ way.
