20. Wildfires across Europe

Not up with the stories yet, only have this so far:

Might be better in this case to rely on the MSM. Our two chaps are over there, one not all that far from Bordeaux. Prayers. More:

Just from my own memories downunder, that was the pattern … coastal areas or just inland or specific bushland areas further inland. In wind corridors, which France/Spain very much have, coming off the Med.

Hmmmmm, shall try to keep an eye on it.

15. Here’s the first of these rolled out likes and dislikes

Yes, it’s Donovan, with Catch the Wind. Lovely song, no doubt about it, one of maybe three of his I liked, excluding Hurdy Gurdy and Mellow Yellow. I read people under videos being all nostalgic … hmmmmm … there’s such a thing, methinks, as something being soooo interwoven with certain experiences at the time … too interwoven … in this case, some girl with a guitar at a campfire in the forest … singing it well too … but …

… it was a time when I was without partner. They all seemed to know one another, were paired off … I had had maybe a three year phase in secondary where I had meaningfully known a girl or three … but that had now passed, that time, this was college/university, I knew none of these people, yet they were supposedly my peer group. It was isolating … clearly I was in the wrong pool with this hippy set.

Just doing the arithmetic and I’d say two years later, it all changed … in fact our friends at that time said we were almost like a married couple. Happy days. But not this time two years earlier in the forest. Thus I see the Donovan album and quietly move past, skip over it. And they were quite a tough two years as well, almost hell on earth. Just a few nice times dotted along through that wasteland. And my 21st was worse … until she appeared.

14. Meanwhile, in Greece

13. The real fascism, that of the EU in this case

… is now on display for the world to see.

12. DAD and our flowergirl

There are all sorts of composing glitches WP have inserted, Ggl too, in order to make it less workable … I surmise the idea is that if we pay premium, all these glitches will disappear.

One particularly annoying one is the sizing and shaping of the sidebar pic. It used to go up in true size and shape. Which meant that the text started higher or lower below it … it was fine.

Then suddenly, they forced it into a square which can’t be altered … it can be resized but the shape is the shape. So, our flowergirl pic, which you can see the shape of, when posted, was squashed up into a square.

How useless is that? It does not take a square snapshot somewhere within the pic, it just squashes any photo into a square. Why? And in the dashboard settings, those settings have been removed. Hence the new version of the pic today.

11. It’s a different world for them

There’s a type of person I instinctively warm to these days and various types I avoid like the plague. On the latter, I’m about to start posting one off posts about the ones I avoid, which I would guess are largely those you would too … start with Labour politicians.

But there are also those I would instinctively post for good reasons … both this girl, plus her parents for good reason. There are other victims, real ones, inc. Nigerian and middle-eastern Christians … there are really nice people, we are drawn to.

9. Ferreters at it again, thank goodness

8. Julia was going on about bridges

… someone crashing into a bridge or hitting it or whatever … she asked how could anyone hit a bridge? Think my reply was entirely unnecessary:

7. One for our boys today

Golden rule … eyes on the girls by all means, let the ladies be lauded … but at the same, never neglect the boys … it has a way of coming back onto you if you do.
