… fashion and society columnist but it’s still worth glancing down:
Women are to blame for cancel culture and the woke agenda. Here’s why:
It’s called the tipping point. Helen Andrews calls this the Great Feminization. When an institution hits a critical mass of women, the rules of engagement change.
Women have taken up judgeships, political offices, and leadership positions across society. Then they form larger collective groups and start ranking:
safety over risk
empathy over rationality
cohesion over competition
That’s extremely destructive, and I’ll tell you why. This is the distinction:
Most men want to fight it out.
Someone challenges the idea.
They argue.
One side wins.
It’s over.
They move on.
Women in a group often don’t fight it out.
They shut it down.
Disagreement isn’t treated like a debate.
It’s treated like a break in the relationship.
The group closes ranks.
The man with the opposing idea becomes the problem.
So a lot of men learned to keep their mouths shut.
To women, it is no longer right versus wrong:
It becomes heartfelt feelings.
If a woman doesn’t like what you said, the natural move is: “I’ll never speak to you again, and neither will any of my friends.”
That’s how cancel culture has been working.
A lot of Boomer and Gen X men tolerated this.
They didn’t see where it was heading.
Give an inch, they take a yard.
Society has to stop indulging it. That means making some women upset and dealing with the tantrums for a while.
The irony? A lot of those same women desperately need someone to fix what they’ve helped destroy.

3. Matt van Swol and the homeschooled kid
Outrage is erupting after a 22-year-old who runs into BURNING BUILDINGS as a volunteer firefighter was told he isn’t qualified to be a paid firefighter…
…because he was HOMESCHOOLED.
Then the city changed the job posting to cover it up.
His name is Andrew Coates. He’s 22 years old, in Nebraska.
Right now, today, he runs into burning buildings as a volunteer firefighter for Cedar Bluffs Fire. He is a state-licensed EMT.
He is doing the job. For free.
All he wanted was to get PAID to do it. In his words: “Make a career out of it would be the goal. To get paid to do what you love.”
So he applied to the Fremont Fire Department.
And in April, the city rejected him. Why?
Because his high school diploma says he was homeschooled.
That’s it. That’s the whole disqualification.
Not his EMT license. Not his fitness. Not his record. Not his experience pulling people out of fires ALREADY!!
…how he was educated.
The job posting he applied to said “graduation from high school.”
That’s all it said. He graduated high school. He has a diploma.
And AFTER they rejected him, the city went back and added the word “accredited” to the job description.
His own fire chief, the man who has watched Andrew work, showed up to defend him:
“I feel the city of Fremont is really missing out here, and in my mind, because of his homeschooling, you guys are discriminating against him.”
Over THIRTY homeschool families showed up to stand behind this kid.
And the Civil Service Commission? They said it isn’t their job to touch city policy.
Homeschoolers are literally a generation of kids who read ABOVE grade level, who work with their HANDS, who volunteer in their communities, who show up for their neighbors.
And this young man is the proof.
At 22, he’s a certified EMT and a volunteer firefighter, while plenty of his peers are on a couch.
When your house is on fire at 3 a.m., I promise you will not ask the man dragging your children out where he went to high school.
You will not ask if his diploma was accredited.
You will thank GOD he came.
Andrew isn’t even fighting for himself anymore. His words:
“I think now it’s turned into we want to make sure that every homeschooler has an equal opportunity.”
That’s a better man than the policy that rejected him.
Fremont, you have a licensed EMT and an active firefighter begging to serve your city. And you turned him down over paperwork, then rewrote the paperwork to cover it.
Fix this.
Hire him!!!!!!!

There are two Pauline “modes” so to speak, which has caused quite different, even diametrically opposite takes on what a Christian should be.
One is Romans 12:17-21, which is the “soft” mode, the gentle lamb, complying with directives and if abused, turning the other cheek … quietly going to the arena to be ravaged by lions.
The other, far more my style, is Ephesians 6:10-17, far more militaristic in tone but the “soft camp” still see the militarism as metaphorical. The “hard camp” point to the example of Jesus overturning the tables of the moneylenders, “we” would point out that tolerance of evil is no Christian virtue. Is it biblical though?
I’m thinking of Danny Tommo in Dover and Portsmouth … in the first, quite militant yet not aggressive, which seems to combine the Romans with the Ephesians. Personally, methought he conducted himself and his thousand very well. The notion of allowing the bullying enemy complete impunity to do as he pleases … well let’s just say it’s not in my character to do that.
How do I see “turn the other cheek” then? I can only see it as the default position with another equal. As for a dangerous foe hellbent on our destruction … no way do you “turn the other cheek” to that. It’s insane … we were imbued with this protective instinct … if we see a sheep in the ditch, we get him out, right?
As for militancy … well look at how I conduct myself on the blogs and on X … am I aggressively evangelistic, tub thumping Ian Paisley?

And now to the burning of churches and mosques. My anger at the church burnings is the aesthetic anger at very old architecture being destroyed. Christianity itself? Well of course not … the (small c) church is the worldwide meeting of minds, souls. Destroying bricks and mortar, stones, is tragic but it’s not the faith being destroyed, far from it. I’m assuming it’s the same with enemy buildings.
How worried are globopsycho about it all today? I’d say a fair bit … for themselves individually, being taken and executed, ruined … but the war games? I’m sure some of the nutters really do want WW3 to wipe out humanity. The others? Self-protection I’d say.

But I believe the decline in marriage and children is a threat to the American future much more dangerous than even the national debt, climate change, cancer or foreign aggression.
Family is the essential organizing unit in America. We’re not to live in Soviet-style communes where the authority figure is “Big Brother.”
Every study shows that the decline in marriage among young men is tied to alcoholism, violent crime, drug abuse, pornography, depression, isolation, less economic success and suicide.
Are women to blame?
Certainly. Study shows that as women have become more career oriented, they are having a harder time “marrying up.”
Generation X and millennials have become choosier in finding a mate and more likely to have children alone, if they have them at all.
“Women have less structural need for marriage than past generations did,” said Angelica Gianchandani, a New York University finance instructor. “Rising income and education give many women a financial independence marriage once provided, and donor sperm and fertility treatment have decoupled motherhood from a partner altogether.”
Women are much less likely to be religious today than in decades past. So holy matrimony is less of a lifetime priority or moral obligation.
We do know that when women raise children without a father in the home – for whatever reason – their kids, especially their sons, are less successful. It’s a particular problem for black women to find a suitable mate when so many young black males are incarcerated.
I’m thrashing for explanations and solutions to this deeply troubling social trend. Obviously, we are not returning to the “Father Knows Best” norms of the 1950s or 1960s.
But recovery starts with admitting we have a problem. I would suggest that President Donald Trump announce a national bipartisan commission on “Rediscovering Love, Marriage and Parenthood.”
One last stat to underscore the urgency of turning around these trends:
The latest Census Bureau data indicate that 47 percent of households were headed by married couples last year, down from 78.8 percent in 1949.
That trend MUST be reversed to advance America’s economic prosperity and human happiness.
