5. I was home sick in Year 2 one day …

… but still walked to school mid morn to give the young teacheress an apple. True story. Boys notice early. When I was in Year 7, I had my first (formal stepping out) date but sitting in class one day, a (maybe) Year 12 girl walked past the school on her way to her school and I got up to go out … but the teacher then came in to start the day’s doings. Damn! Also a true story.

a) France Plummets in Reading, Math and Comprehension in Latest PISA Rankings. French students recorded their worst performance since international PISA testing began over 20 years ago, with mathematics and reading scores dropping sharply to rank 34th and 28th globally.

b) Paris 19th: A high-ranking official from the Directorate of Prison Administration had her bag—containing confidential data on prisons—stolen in a bar. Later that evening, around 11:30 PM, the young woman stepped out of the Hang’Art with a friend to smoke a cigarette. A short while later, she realised her bag was gone. There was no denying the facts: it had been stolen.

d) EU enlargement commissioner warns EU candidates: Cut ties with MAGA. EU candidate countries should cut ties with the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement and, more broadly, avoid strategic dependencies on political movements and figures that Brussels considers incompatible with its interests, EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos has warned.
