(1710) Just one of those days … weather does not know if it wants to shine or rain, there are strong winds. Evening all. Too many items to post all now, shall try to select carefully. Have a good evening.
20. Still taking the killer jabs?
For those of you still getting the mRNA COVID shot- please STOP and take a few minutes to listen to former Air Force Cardiologist Dr Milhoan testify about the Cardiotoxin Spike protein and the damage it causes!! https://t.co/Qf4zmITved
Based on a story by Clifford Grey, with a screenplay by Sidney Gilliat, the film is a tale about a European express train to Rome carrying diverse characters, including thieves, adulterers, blackmail victims, and an American film star.[4] The film won the American National Board of Review award for Best Foreign Film.[4][5]Rome Express was remade as Halfway to Shanghai” 1941 and Sleeping Car to Trieste (1948).
Just as the train is departing from a station in Paris, Zurta and his colleague Tony just manage to board the train. They have found out that someone they want to see is on board. Another passenger, McBain, a wealthy businessman travelling with his brow-beaten secretary/valet, Mills, learns that a painting by Van Dyck, which he had previously tried to buy and which had later been stolen, has not been recovered and says he would do anything to obtain it. Also on the train are an adulterous couple, an annoyingly sociable Englishman, a French police inspector, and an American film star who is tiring of her fame, accompanied by her manager/publicist.
It transpires that the stolen painting is in the possession of a man, Poole, who conspicuously keeps his briefcase close to him at all times…..
(1257) This is very late and very long … plus it’s one of two, the second tomorrow, both at HQ and Jstack. They’re well worth a read imho, esp. as it’s by an older Pole. (1329)
Not doing too many of these … at this stage, only two of them. Was fine as a child but now … hmmm. And the way they handle thos topic of The Female … not sure any actress would take the role now. As always, I’d like to see a state of relations midway … neither patriarch nor matriarch, with firm man and sane woman.
(1026) Morning all … looked as if it were brightening up, now back to threat of rain … the Britain of old. Been frenetic, I’m coping less these days, slowing down. Maybe you too? I need to explore Morrisons and Vox Populi … more on those later. (1044)
5. You hungry?
This one’s for our junk food junkies, in Britland and across various ponds. £1GB = $US 1.35 this morning.
4. Steve at 1484
Ah, nowt as yet … shall have to chase Steve up, not about blog but if he’s ok. He did mention his mate. That’s to do.
3. Turkish Airlines … uh huh
2. DAD at 1484
a) UK. Just one in 100 asylum claims are true – and migrants use ‘the same script’, Home Office whistleblower says.
b) [With all the excitement of events at Dover and Portsmouth reports of this event were lost. Two translated texts.]
The March for Life took place in London on Saturday, September 5. This year’s theme, “Human Rights for All Human Beings,” highlights the many rights affected by the legalisation of abortion—specifically those of the unborn child, the mother, healthcare professionals, and even those who hold or express pro-life convictions.
c) Brussels pays for research aimed at cutting right-wing appeal among young men
Four Horizon Europe projects worth a combined €11.1 million examined how the Right uses gender, and three of them financed work designed to blunt its appeal.
d) Belgium’s ‘aid worker’ in Gaza turns out to be a Hamas terrorist in the Khan Younis Brigade
Nabhan had worked for Enabel since 2020 on a European programme supporting small businesses in Gaza.
e) Vox takes Sánchez to court over Ceuta
The party has authorised a criminal complaint charging the Prime Minister, the Interior Minister and the Secretary of State for Security with collaborating with terrorism.
(0652) Late up again, took that second sleep after an 0200 wake up … did not post but just gathered in the middle of the night, then crashed again. That wound on the forearm from yesterday healed up naturally, so that at least was good news. Only mentioning it coz a few were following the story. (0834)
The chances of being taken in
Most people of some intelligence, with at least half a brain, imho do allow their own opinion of themselves (I can’t be taken in any more) to blind them to deluberately included misleading words and images designed to draw them in, knowing full well how highly they rate themselves. There’s a name for it … Dunning-Kruger:
“The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias whereby people with low ability or limited knowledge in a specific domain greatly overestimate their own competence.”
There’s a field of study, much beloved by the psycho-left (Them) called Neuro-Linguistic Programming (hereafter NLP) and an example from years back was in a Nourishing Obscurity post about Groupthink … it was mainly about Common Purpose in this country, out of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM). They loved techniques such as Delphi (itself a buzz word).
The normie with unused thinking processes was easily taken in (much beloved by advertisers, supermarts etc.), young people often needed more though and as the young often see themselves as the ants’ pants (got it all taped, dial-in ability) … well it needed more.
And the ones most easily fooled were the “intelligent”, college professor types who “could never be taken in” … add to that techies, those in IT. One obstinate group needing to be played on were what I used to call the Colonel Harrumphs … they’d vote Reform these days … even Restore … they are awake to Them’s tricks but being educated, Them were no way going to fool them. And they’d only ever respind to slick, learned articles in respected publications (e.g. The Smithsonian?).
The key words in the Dunning-Kruger above are in bold … in a specific domain. You can be quite clever in a variety of domains and then start thinking within some other domains, e.g. health, medicine … or the law of the land … or online in general …
… and truly clever people can take you/take me, make no mistake … happens often, playing on your/my weak spots. It’s how we’re sold things.
And so to today’s item on X

For a start, I do NOT like capitalisation in memes. Now I do have a Morrisons catalogue right here and so can check if that’s a genuine bag decoration or not … here is a further one at the “Wild Veracity” link:
I’ll report back later on the veracity of the bag. This is the writer by the way:
All sorts of red flags, from the profile pic being a graphic (mine now is at least a real photo of me, as is the gallery pic in Masquerade) to scant bkgd info (paratrooper? a woman?).
And so to Jane:
You’ll notice no “follows you” on the profiles … that’s why I check … remember Leah? I did not handle that diplomatically and yet she still needed checking out. Mutual followers means we’ve both checked the other out. Stage after that is DMing, e.g. Julia, Moo, Martin. A polit-pundit MUST do that, it’s an imperative, esp. these days.
So, what remains is for me to check out a real Morrisons bag … that might take some time, as the bath is still hot, plus I have to say hello on X. But I will come back here to report. …/END for now.
