Apparently, there were two competing films that year and this producer rushed his into a couple of weeks in order to head the other off at the summer fayre pass. Yet it stands up.

Yes it does stand up, especially for 1950 and shot in 18 days on a low budget. Ironic that the name of a crew member was Corrigan, or maybe it was deliberate.
