The scale of the challenge of ‘decarbonising’ transport is very large. Transport accounts for 26% of total UK emissions, which is 0.27% of total global emissions. As a rough guide from Government statistics, the major contributing sectors to transport emissions are road transport (70%), aviation (20%) and marine (8%). In Great Britain, there are around 42 million registered road vehicles – 34 million cars, five million vans and 0.8 million heavy goods vehicles and buses. Of these vehicles, as of March 2025 only 1.5 million were pure battery electric vehicles. Cars and vans account for about half while heavy goods vehicles and buses account for 15% of total transport CO2.

In 2024, 28 billion litres of diesel and 18 billion litres of petrol were used on British roads. Alternative fuels like biofuels cannot fully replace such large volumes and have significant performance and environmental downsides. Being forced by regulations to ‘cut’ pure fuel with bio-ethanol adversely affects fuel power density and also allows algal growth in storage tanks. It perishes seals and can block pipes and filters unless powerful biocides are routinely added to stored fuel, as farmers are now obliged to do to protect their tractors. Growing crops for fuel is also an opportunity-cost against growing food.

a) Germany. The Lebanese–German Abdul Ballout, who ran a van into a crowd killing one and injuring 29 on Saturday, had been convicted of plotting a terror attack by a German court in May, but the judge suspended his 22-month sentence. He was also found guilty by a military court in Lebanon and was deported to Germany for inciting religious conflict.

b) Italy jails a jeweller who shot armed robbers, reigniting a fierce battle over self-defence and whether justice protects criminals over victims.

c) UK. Lord Walney, formerly Labour MP John Woodcock, served as an advisor on political violence under the previous Conservative government and now argues that lessons must be learned from the protracted banning process of Palestinian Action, according to Breitbart News.

d) Germany. Four days after the attack on Berlin’s Christopher Street Day LGBT parade, the debate in Germany is moving away from empirical reality and descending into ideological demagoguery. Queer Commissioner of the Berlin State Government, Social Democrat Alfonso Pantisano, has placed the “far right” and the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) at the centre of his criticism.

1. Some sort of op ed, plus housekeeping

a. The current topics out there are Fauci, the insult to those girls at the basketball game … and the Manchester mayoral election today. The current topic to me is a devastating loss last night, late, my worst since maybe 2018, including Covid (Fauci, Whitty, Ferguson, Hancock).

I did not run my own situation on this page last night because it was personal and did not directly involve this site’s scope but it’s a huge test of faith today to keep doing this … blogging … yet I feel I must, especially as our enemy closes in for the kill. To all our regulars, longterm and newer, I do pray for your protection and wellbeing today … each and every one of you. Similar prayers my way are much appreciated.

b. Coming back to that seemingly unimportant behaviour towards those two girls (Wed 20) … I need to say first off … what on earth is that “game” even doing existing, let alone being nationally broadcast and internationally discussed for its ongoing outrages? It’s bizarre that it has any audience at all. The WNBA can only exist on the outrage it triggers, certainly not for any quality of play but last evening’s crossed a line in this way …

The woman who confronted the girls over their sign supporting this Sophie C was apoplectic over the latter’s stance on men in women’s sport, known as the XX-XY argument. Obviously, this blog and afa I know the vast majority of regulars consider the two sexes just basic logic, hardly needing any explanation or requiring any body mutilation, esp. on children.

Yet this “creature” who confronted the girls at the game, a grown woman, adopted two stances in order to give herself the moral high ground … first was to attack the XX-XY stance but the second was to invoke the Christian God in defence of body mutilation, calling it “God loves everyone” … twisting that to support very great wrong being done.

Whoa! God loves behaviour designed to wreck marriage and procreation? Contrary to the clear indication in the Gospels … and in the Torah (OT)?

“Tolerating evil is no virtue” is a well known adage and this blog for one supports that. Claiming divine approval of evil and speaking in this pseudo-religious manner about it in order to reinforce it is not just wrongheaded and deluded, let alone being badly un-read … but it is doing the work of evil in pushing it. At the behest of the hijacked communist State.

c. Then there is the sdulteration, the poisoning of the skies, land water, food, even in the plastic containers used.
