20. Wildfires across Europe
Not up with the stories yet, only have this so far:

Might be better in this case to rely on the MSM. Our two chaps are over there, one not all that far from Bordeaux. Prayers. More:

Just from my own memories downunder, that was the pattern … coastal areas or just inland or specific bushland areas further inland. In wind corridors, which France/Spain very much have, coming off the Med.
Hmmmmm, shall try to keep an eye on it.

20. Uh oh. Monitoring carefully. We’ve had rain today. First in about 10 days. Ground rock hard and grass is brown and crisp. Fortunately the harvest was finished beginning of July and all straw bales have been removed by the farmers. However, latest missive from water company tells us to prepare for even more restrictions. At the moment we can’t wash the car and no watering the garden until after 8 p.m. All commercial car washes are closed until further notice. Weather this year has been extreme to say the least. Record floods earlier this year now 3 heatwaves so far and drought conditions. And we had several inches of snow for a day on 6th January.
Just bought in several litres of drinking water. Stocks are low in local supermarket. Not helped by it being peak holiday season and so many grockles about.
Whether the weather is cold or hot we all must weather it whether or not. 😎🥵

JH: Ta, IYE, nice to know you’re just near dehydrated so far, not fried to a crisp.
20. I’m 200km north of Bordeaux, this morning and afternoon It was a complete calm here with a very cloudy sky.
This afternoon there was a strange smell when I went into the garden. Suddenly I realised that it was a very weak smell of smoke. Could it have come from the Gironde fire? I search to see if there was a fire closer; but found nothing.
……
JH: Ta, DAD, to know you’re ok.
Smoke in the air here now, quite noticeable in nose and throat. Wind speed 17 km/h with gusts 28 km/h, direction W. 40%chance of rain tomorrow. We’re 175 km from Bordeaux.
Actually we’re only 121 kms as the crow flies. Eek!
