12. The issue with Russia

Even though I was cocooned to a great extent over there (they protected what they saw as their college asset for some years), there were many times I was face to face with the native. If female, it was almost always pleasant … if male, it depended, esp. with young hoods in the yards.

The Uke thing has been just as distressing for Russians … former bros and sisses made enemies by the CIA, NATO, Britain and the EU honchos above … Russia truly had no option, knowing they’d be vilified. The USSR? Different other animal, inc. both countries.

Thank goodness Brits, Europeans and Americans are now starting to wake up to just whom Russia is fighting.

I’m thinking we need to forget this good guy bad guy epithet … Russia is just a sovereign nation … it’s always going to defend itself against a western agency like CIA/NATO which it feels is out to destroy it. Memories of WW2 and the years around it are still fresh. It’s always wanted to be the eastern part of Christendom and Empire.

Question is … in whose interest is it that Christendom be fractured?

  1. ‘What if Russia isn’t the bad guy.’

Russia hasn’t been the bad guy for some time. 50 Years ago they dropped the wall and changed their society because they were promised to be included as part of Western society if they did so.

That didn’t happen because the West still needed a bad guy and China wasn’t there yet. From what I can see the West have caused most of the conflicts since the Crusades.

Looks like we are now started to go full circle.

  2. 12. The issue with Russia – Zelenskyy has arrived at 10 Downing Street. There were 11 Guardsman stood to attention, five each side of the door, with a sergeant on the left at right-angles to the soldiers – he looked like he ate all the pies. As for the soldiers I couldn’t believe how bad they looked. The first one left of the door looked like he was about to fall over, the one next to him had his bearskin set at a jaunty angle. Back in the day I visited the Guards depot at Pirbright and I can tell you this squad looked like shit. One reason is the SNCO who marched them up didn’t dress them off properly or inspect them. Yet another indication of where we are with our armed forces.

    • Probably not real soldiers – more likely rejects from RADA 😁 Absolute disgrace.

My Grandad would be spitting bricks – he was in the Scots Guards. The bearskin was part of his dress uniform.
