Hallowe’en three of three

Though other references might abound through the day, inc. my regular warning not to let chn out of your sight this night … the actual spiel from me was in Hallowe’en two of three.

This is the same song and is all about the girl but hey ho. Was thinking of running the Jeeves episode set on Lammas eve (with song Lady of Spain … you might recall) … I’m not running it now, on the grounds of it being for July 31st.

Instead, the House of Usher is coming up. But first, Sarah Rae … spooky …

The song itself … CCR, in their early days, were quite a unit, all for one etc. There was a new reaction vid up with two of my regulars, not a clue what to expect, clowning it up for Hallowe’en, they switched on the song … and were both blown away by the CCR version.

There truly were some great songs here and there back then, not all the time. I never really liked Zeppelin … and Stairway to Heaven is or was soooooo overplayed, to death … and yet it still stands up today as a very well constructed piece … it’s earned its place. I’d say The House if the Rising Sun was similar (an Animals post later today)..

5. This one you’d need to seek out on X

Significant to me is that Data Republican (small r) is being quite supportive of Natalie, which is nice to see. By the way, two making a reappearance on X are Charlie Ward and Bowtie Martin … though not very successfully.

“The antagonist, as Roger Scruton pointed out years ago before his untimely death in 2020, is common on the left because the left believes that it must deconstruct our civilization before it imposes a radically new order based on the fiction of equity — “fiction,” because in every socialist or communist society ever attempted, all power and wealth goes to a small number of rulers (e.g., the “Central Committee” of the Communist Party in whatever state you wish to name) and not to the people.”

3. Over at Lord Toby’s

Companies will be told to act like the “fun police” at work parties as Labour’s controversial ‘banter ban’ comes into force today. The Mail has the story.

“The human rights watchdog will publish guidance reminding businesses about their new “legal obligations” around work social events under Angela Rayner’s worker’s rights laws.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) warned that “risks can be higher” when staff socialise outside of working hours or where alcohol is consumed.

The watchdog said: “With workplaces across the UK holding Halloween events this week, the EHRC is also reminding employers to plan for risks linked to work-related social events.””

I’m going to swear now, so please cover your eyes … just who TF do these out of control clowns think they are !!

Saturday. It’s very lonely here on my own. (JH: Better than being slaughtered by doctors and engineers, DAD, plus we’re here. We’re real, though of course can’t ohysically get there quickly.)

a) France. On Thursday, October 29, presidential hopeful Édouard Philippe was granted the legal status of “assisted witness” in an investigation opened in Paris concerning the alleged misappropriation of public funds, favouritism, and psychological harassment within the Le Havre urban community. [What is it with these politicians putting their fingers in the till.]

b) Israeli Election Chief orders a probe into foreign meddling in Arab vote.
Israel’s Central Elections Committee has ordered a Shin Bet investigation into Netanyahu’s claims that foreign interference artificially boosted Arab voter turnout in the country’s elections.

c) American investigative journalists James O’Keefe and Cam Higby have been charged with two felony counts each for a stunt they did in August 2026 in an effort to expose the vulnerabilities of Minnesota’s ‘voter vouching’ scheme.
County Attorney for Hennepin County, Minnesota, Mary Moriarty held a press conference on Wednesday, 28 October in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she announced that O’Keefe and Higby are both being charged with one count of identity theft and one count of unlawful voting each. Both offences are felonies in the state of Minnesota.

Saturday [1]

(0424) Dark outside, natch. DAD just dropped. (0503)

Opening statement from me for Saturday (All Hallows Eve)

Have just reviewed systems on the ipads, plus my alternative … it does show how fragile our communications system is. At my end alone, it depends on a cable, then an EE hub which is a deliberate bottleneck, then depends on WiFi in here, except for my alt-system. Regarding power failure, the HQ hub itself has its own power source for up to 45 minutes but then that’s it.

One pad (the newest) was jammed by a bible site left opened by me last night (keeping me in a submit-cancel loop) but there was a workaround. X was still operating at 0433. Oh, and I’m ok at this stage too … seems so.

Content comment for Saturday => Using X as the prime source for the latest on Poland, also any other topic, the time references on X are crucial, as every comment is superceded by another, plus the quality of the incoming has to be evaluated. An example was a lady named Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik (scroll down … her comment on X is not far down).

I was wondering who the heck she was, sacking Tusk and thugs but had no updates. Now we do:

Other than live blogging (which Poland is here at HQ), you can’t rely on time stamps, e.g. 5hr ago, for less vital pieces as they could have been in the queue for up to a day. Poland is my only live blogging for now … continues in Sat [1].

What else I have on Poland just now, from 0424

Ryan Fournier’s is an earlier piece from last evening:

The rest is current:

Screenshot only, not footage

My thought on it is it’s still line ball in Poland, prayers for the people required, readers.
