13. Spineless RINOs

… or in other words … closet Demonrats.

12. Middle class hooligans? Like it …

11. The new coffee arrived

Thought I’d show the simplistic way I do it:

Your way of course is far more sophisticated.

  1. 11. The new coffee arrived – exactly the way I do it. From right to left: French press is a two cupper, coffee mill is manual like yours but more modern and I too buy Taylors. Only difference is my choice is the Flying Start, roast 5. To save money in the last year I’ve gone from coffee bag to ground to beans – same make and roast. If you look at the price per kilo the difference between bag and beans is considerable. I grind enough for a week and store it in an airtight jar, along with a measuring spoon (8g). One mug a day as I’m a massive tea drinker and love my Dorset tea (Keith Spicer, Wimborne). Great Taste award winner 2025 🙂

    • Beans have a longer shelf life than ground. Not sure about the shelf life of green versus roast beans, seem to remember reading somewhere that one is much longer than t’other.

  2. Small coffee roasters seem to be popping up around the country. There is one near us we’ve only just discovered, operated by one man. Only tried his Ethiopian Yirgacheffe so far but it’s a good start.

    • A memory of my teenage years in the 1950s. The smell of coffee beans being roasted at the International Stores on Barnet High Street. The aroma wafted down the street and one could see many people raising their noses to get a lung-full of that unmistakable smell.
