Three Songbirds

R.I.P. Dolly Parton as well. WN1 and I had Islands in the Stream as our song (with Kenny Rogers).

Now, having listened to their dulcet tones, time to turn this sour, as is the Unherdables wont. I don’t mean on these three themselves, I mean on the whole US country music scene, behind the scenes. And I don’t mean just the drinking and debauchery, nor even the drugs.

I’m thinking specifically of Kristofferson and the DID trauma training. Many know of Bob Hope … a way down that rabbit hole is Joey Heatherington’s messed up life … and Dick Cheney has been mentioned by some women, apart from his shotgun skills … but someone like Kristofferson gets clean away with it (allegedly).

It’s a nasty scene. One worth exploring is Tammy Wynette, though she’s more in the messed up category.

    • Feeling musical today – due to Dolly’s passing no doubt. Picked up on the 50th anniversary of Boston’s “More Than A Feeling”, which was yesterday. Remember hearing it for the first time laying in the bath on a Friday night after work. Blasting out on the Grundig Yacht Boy my parents bought me for my 18th birthday. Happy Days 🙂

  1. Arf!

Been trying to share things with certain folks. No one listens to Toods anymore 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Dolly Parton thanked that newly married couple for a big donation to one of her charities. The rest of the chat was eye bulging and ear twanging…and she wasn’t even sangin’ !

DP made a quick sign with two of her long red finger nails; pointer and pinky. She spoke of TS’s and TK’s first born child as she did i

It was early July, an sauspicious month it was!

Ole Slew Foot was busy that month. He is always afoot.
    🙏🙏🙏

  2. My edit was de-edited
It should have been written, a sauspicious month.
Were I to use the descriptive auspicious then ‘an auspicious’ would have been correct.

Even so, I am usually a tad bit suspicious (wary maybe) these days about all things and probably for good reason.

  3. 🐕,
•Enough to make a glass eye weep.

•Enough to make a glass eye weepNice place S-o-t-W until they have the Gypsy horse fair. All the local businesses board up their premises and restaurants lock their doors – they let you in if you knock and ask nicely. Should suit those two.
    Per usual.. am slain 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣🤪

•The Best Time to Eat a Kiwi For Sleep, Energy, and Immunity”
I knew about vitamin C therefore immunity in some form. Assumption made it would supply energy but that it helps us 🫩🥱 😴? Who knewi?

On my way to New Zealand, no China …🤷🏼‍♀️! Depends on what kind of kiwi I want!

    • Organic green kiwis probably the best. I had two last evening after dinner along with a fresh ripe fig. Was awake all night with indigestion. 🥱 Probably the fig what done it! 😃
We used to live in the Cotswolds not far from S-o-t-W – obviously it has gone downhill since we left!😇

Indigestion? I figure it was indeed the fig what caused it😐.
Organic kiwis? Naturally they were organic!
It is a well known fact the world over that the Cotswolds has become a real cesspit since y’all left.

We once owned a home that had several different kinds of fruit trees along with two pecans. It was a veritable Garden of Eden in the rich black belt of Alabama. We could have lived off the land if things had gotten tough. Looking back we hardly had the proverbial two pennies (not Penseivat) to rub together.

The trees produced at different times overlapping each other for a pretty continuous flow of produce.. The pecans went on forever. And they were rich and meaty.

By the time February came my dog would become a chunk! What is causing that, I wondered. She really had not been eating a whole lot of her food that autumn and winter. Surprisingly she had become husky but was not a Husky.

Finally, one day we were hanging out in the yard and my pooch went over and picked up a nut, returned by my side and proceeded to crack the pecan with her teeth. I was impressed but even more so when Stella adeptly picked out the rich meat with her front teeth! I was amazed. She was much faster than I was with nut cracker and pic.

Now Winnie some years before had put on her weight eating from the fig tree. To this day I have not had figs to equal the delicious flavor, texture and attractiveness of that tree! Her sweet tooth is what caused her to lose her svelt figure every August and cannot deny I plumped up myselfie!

Jack was my lab and he ate everything! However, I think the ole boy never tasted a single morsel.

I reckon I could write a book about that fella and the gal doggies too!
