Saturday [1]

(0639) Morning all, total cloud cover out there. (0726)

Slower slower slower

There are two essential themes in this post. First is from a post on July 7th in which I posted The Beat’s 1980 song Click Click, which went at breakneck pace, finishing with “Faster faster faster faster stop!”

And that is precisely what Them want us to do … they drop things on us every day, far too many to absorb, to the point we overload. This site here, UHC-HQ, is precisely what Them want … cursory, news headline looks at vital issues … whoosh, Jimbo has moved onto the next one.

Meanwhile, our boys (and girls behind the scenes) are addressing things in way more detail and we really should be exploring those. Hence NOWP, hence OoL. Julia sets a nice pace over there, I try not to overwhelm with all my topics.

That’s what the July 7th post was about … not going faster faster faster but rather slower slower slower, meaning not letting anyone bully us into “precipitate action” we’ll regret later. Also learning the difference. This was from that post:

“Why?” asks the 2026 me. “What’s the hurry?”

See, the 2026 me sees the end of my road ahead, which I’m thinking might also be messy … will I even manage to get to the dementia bit? It’s in the hands of My Maker, is it not?

One of my friends strongly rejects the idea of a “contract” with God … however, as with the Blues Bros, there’s certainly a Mission from God … even a secularist can see that. And is it not what we’re all doing … readers, contributors, me … is this not our bit for our people? So we can go out, like Sydney Carton, doing a far, far better thing etc.?

Quick word about health … due to avoiding the medicos, eating only what I buy and cook, keeping it as pure as poss, exercising, if only through chores and up and down stairs, plus preparing this blog each day, sticking to a core routine, a known-known … a place for everything and everything in its place (think of DAD’s manor in France), plus maintaining a network of friendships of varying degrees, praying everyone keeps on keeping on … I’m in pretty good nick this morning, with a nice piece of sirloin for lunch later.

Let’s say I’m staving off dementia for now … plus Steve has been posting health articles everyday now.

What this is about is scheduling breaktimes in our routines, our hell-for-leather pace, which is an induced mental aberration … scheduling “slowtimes” to just go through what our other chaps and chapesses have brought … go through properly.

That’s why NOWP and OoL are two of my first morning ports of call … I have DAD’s Steve’s ready to signpost here, I see Torquaymada has written. So, after this post, coffee by my side, I must do the Alex M and Lord T post at OoL and Jstack, then the NOWP morning doings, then Saturday 2 to 5 here.

But more slowly. There is an aberration on the ipad … letters appearing as other letters, e.g. i as o, s as d and so on … e as d. This is annoying. However, thinking more intellugently about it … yes, it’s annoying because it stops my breakneck pace.

But should I not be slowing down anyway? My contention is that if ipad starts acting up, then does that not mean I’m going too fast? So slow down, Higham! Counterintuitive to me. Maybe to you too.

Are there times when we must jump in? Hell yes! Clip on X … one of the monsters in our midst now, going up stairs, hits a woman with baby going the other way … western woman of course. Five western men pile in on him. Or someone drowning offshore. Human chain to rescue him or man at the end of a long rope? Yes … there are times we must jump in … faster faster faster.

But not on this blog.

The second part of this post comes straight back to this vital quote:

Let’s get this whole “overweening ego” thing out of the equation. It is NOT ego, any which way, to be that person, at that moment, under those specific circumstances, in place to give the cue.

Once we can get this self-effacing rubbish about being nobodies (Farage’s favourite phrase about those opposed to him) out of the way … also the opposite … empire builders who think they’re God’s gift …

… once we can get all that out of the equation, we’re left with ordinary people who have woken up to our extant societal danger … a world where heroes are anything but, and ordinary nobodies “matter unimaginably” …

… then we are closing in on “real change for the good” … imho.
