The other day I noticed that our local supermarket had no chocolate worth buying at all. Now the long school holiday has started, even what little there was had been replaced by junk.
No shortage of chocolate in these parts. No shortage of what looks like chocolate but isn’t either. But for the grab and go, I can do self service, phone zombies it matters not what they buy or the cost so alls well in UK lala land. The app god doth rule.
These videos are clickbait.As most brands today are literallt brand only just peep beehing the t’interweb curtain and see what corporation owns the brand. Then you will know all the other brands in its ‘portfolio’ are fronts for the same crap.

Have Thornton’s and Hotel Chocolate gone down the pan too? (Haven’t watched the video as I’ve already seen a couple a few months ago – one was on UK choco-slop and the other was French choco-slop)
Many years ago, back when I had a lady friend I would buy a few very expensive chocolates from Hotel Choccy, wrap them in an origami box. Then challenge her to open it to get to the chocolate without tearing the paper. If she failed she would pay a forfeit. I got my forfeit and she got her chocolate. Every time.
So far if we want to avoid Them’s food technology muck we have to:
Grow our own wheat and mill it
Make our own bread
Grow our own fruit and veg or buy organic
Have our own tea plantation
Grow our own olives, olive press and bottling equipment
Have our own cocoa plantation
Learn how to temper chocolate
Learn about animal husbandry, including how to milk a cow, cure bacon etc
Make our own ice cream
……
What else to avoid toxins and untested chemicals which are possibly entering our food and drink?

I always read the table of ingredients.
My French ex-lady-friend used to call all English ‘chocolate’ by the name vegelate, as there was so much vegetable oils therein.
