An American or AI voiced take on the British audio brand QUAD way back when…

I never owned one but a friend of a friend did … a 405, with the pre and main amp, plus radio … it was the dials as well as the clarity of sound we loved. While I was running my Bang & Olufsen through a pair of Celestion Ditton towers, with twin decks, VHS, turntable and mixer … he ran his QUAD through Bose 901 speakers … rather nice they were.

At the risk of being pernickety though, audiophiles and engineers might say that to run the clean QUAD signal through bass biased speakers did negate the advantages … however, we move on.
