The others ranged from a smug young joker going on about the deathstar … his manner was offputting …

… to another “drowned out by mood music” thing …

… it was starting to wear thin.

The one I eventually chose was as simple and as normal-voiced as was possible to find.

8. Thoughts on Thurs 7

To me, this is by no means cut and dried, this “westwide” issue. While we’re supporting our particular nation in each case, in second place after the Christian God, we then leave a space for our allies and those of goodwill out there, a bit like bros and sisses … family fights, family has issues … but ultimately, it is family.

What though about Lord Byron in Greece? Barclay de Tolly in Russia in 1812? The Gurkhas? What about Ben Habib … how much of his roots affects his assimilation here? David Kurten? Do we like Thomas Sowell?

I’d argue that it’s a less worrying issue with Eva, Ada, Brittany Pettibone, Joey. Marion Mariechal? Our MAGA mates? Could you marry Eva Vlaar if free and if she was free (pre-marriage)and crazy for you? I’d argue it would not be so difficult. A Swedish girl? You see where this is going.

But muddying the gene pool outside of our species? Er. No. I’m hardly a role model for little Englander … English girls, Aussie, Serb, Ukrainian, Russian, American, Canadian, Austrian? Not to mention Tatar dalliances. Hungarian too. Polish. Jewish. Spanish, French. Not really an advert for racial purity.

TR (SYL) is an interesting figure … does he not get a platform too? And his guests? I’m thinking these people of goodwill are welcome. Where does it all fit in with our political stance? Enlighten me.

Just repeating that this first post of the day is fairly important each day, not just for me … it’s signalling the state of play to quite a few people. Later, I do similar on X and at Orphans, just see that things are ok, explore if not or read and follow up. I said to IYE that I’ll mainly do his vast copy backlog Friday morn when there’s some peace … second of two busy days today. If I don’t expound on our health, forgive … as long as I note it … lurgy, back home again after being displaced and so on.

Saw Steve say he was voting Reform. A few said that on X, calling it the “least worst” option. No it ain’t … the expression please is “least bad”.

… at the paywall Geelong Advertiser downunder is a journo or the orthopaedic surgeon (retired) mentioned in the opening blurb. Think this young lady is a journo.

“There’s a new weight loss drug that people are injecting in Australia. In a concerning trend, doctors say they are seeing patients – including ones who are “skinny” and even unknowingly pregnant – taking a peptide called retatrutide. Shockingly, it isn’t even approved for use yet or legal to buy, but it is being sold on unregulated websites that claim it’s for “lab use”. As plastic surgeon Kelly Thornbury says: “From speaking to my patients they didn’t understand what they were taking, they thought it was like buying a supplement from Chemist Warehouse. This is not a supplement, this is a medication that may be contaminated.” Retatrutide is a triple agonist drug, meaning it activates the GLP-1 hormone (like Ozempic and Wegovy) along with GIP (like Mounjaro) and glucagon receptors. We asked scientists to examine one retatrutide vial being sold online. They have raised doubts that the product is what it claims to be and warn it could be harmful or toxic. See why here.“
