Turn by turn, they tighten the screws, ratchet us that bit more

Have a look at Andy’s and IYE’s comments on Tue 5 but to that, I’m going to add this:


Obviously we don’t know the whole thing … I’m puzzled that the old fella is not already on their books, probably used to wandering down from home and it being friendly and straightforward.

For a start, the NHS is now run by firms … Lucis Healthcare or whatever … we’ve covered a fair bit here of late on it, inc. comments on waiting times to see a doctor, having a test, procedure etc. I myself have largely avoided all that like the plague and thank the Lord … the overall health is fine.

If the chap is a long time on their books, in the central computer, then why on earth are they going through the whole thing again? I suspect it’s because they’re setting up an NHS “app” for him. No possibility of just transferring the data already there? Thought not. Some new “manager” deciding it all has to be redone from scratch.

I did get a text saying I could no longer order any medicines without using the “app”. That’s fine, said the chemist I phoned, we know about that … your particular ones are covered by somethingelseorother. Fine, fine. So the trick is not to be ill. I don’t mean lurgy or the cold causing heart thingies … they’re par for the course … no, I mean a real issue, even knees or gut or something like that. Injury.

Gutwise, I had decided anyway, before the latest delivery, to drop the beef for awhile in favour of chicken soup (lurgy etc.) … my Doctor Toodles said that with my blood group, might be better to ease up on it … I do obey Dr. Toodles … eventually. I’d dropped breaded cod for salmon, kept the quiche for now, trimmed of pastry.

At the same time this morning, this appeared in the inbox … all about acid. Uh huh, I explored:

Being a person of faith in the Good Lord, I couldna help thinking that He’d been at work here. Anyway, shall try it, starting with the chicken broth this evening.

But coming back to this old chap and if it’s going to happen too, to any one of us … not a fun prospect. I’m not having any procedure unless something awful has happened … the abode is good, things are working fine, was talking to the neighbours, the house is good … can’t help thinking though that they were going too well.

Sure enough … Apple icloud inserted itself onto my new 256Gb ipad with a bright red warning, which simultaneously darked the app to make us frightened. Unless I agree to these new Ts and Cs immediately, they will shut me off and I can only have 50Gb of images and other media.

But that REFUSAL will then be reported, do I ustd, to Papa Apple and as you have a new ipad, you might not be able to use it. AT ALL.

I looked through the endless Ts and Cs and only two were iffy … the first a demand for my birthdate, without which I could no longer use Apple products … and that if my polutical opinion is held to be unacceptable, I’m to be struck off, DO I HEAR?!!!

I accepted, just to see what would happen. Now they did say I could opt to turn off icloud if I wished … with consequences. I left it on.

Went to X … wish I’d screenshot the panel … X working normally … cloudflare has an immediate problem, try later … your ipad working normally. No access to X for me. HQ working fine for now.

Suddenly in HQ, it logged me out, I logged back in, a panel appeared, asking me to put in login and password “to complete” the saving. I pushed “later”, the login worked. I also got in to X via there.

My regular people were not available to me unless I specifically entered their handles. Yes, they were having issues too. To communicate with any of them, I had to use a newly created passcode.

And so it goes on. Bit by bit by bit by bit.

Downstairs, awaiting the food, planning to tell the driver he was across my driveway, he was one of our regulars from the area, English, nice chat, a bit of banter, all AOK. Food was fine I found out upstairs.

A girl was fast walking at a rate of nots, maybe mid 30s mother, fairhaired … wondered if she was nice or a wokeleft karen.

Well well well … guess what just happened a second time?

  1. Er hang on a mo. The final screenshot – low-acid foods “Other options include… WHOLE GRAINS…” {emphasis mine} then the screenshot above that states acidic foods “MOST GRAINS” {again emphasis mine} Which is it? Seems somewhat contradictory. If in doubt try living on fresh air and water. You won’t have time to succumb to C that way.

    Next week there will be some article somewhere telling us the opposite is true which is why I ignore them all! Doom porn from Them.
