10. Cash or card?

Going to put an argument, then a counter-argument to it, then a counter of my own to that counter-argument. First, the argument (no names, twas on X, need to protect the poster):

Pretty good argument. All right, one commenter wrote no, never cash, faeces all over it, unhygienic and he had a good point too … think of the diseases now we’re third world, esp. in the metropolises.

I do have a counter-counter argument and that’s that I had an inkling they’d stop cash, but as I had some anyway, withdrawn from the bank in bits over time, used to pay small things like a cab fare, those notes came out of the machine the teller used, not from any shop. I give close to the amount and tell them to put any change in a charity box.

That still doesn’t protect us from third world and nu-yoof levels of hygiene but it’s the best, imho, that we can do.
