a) French authorities have announced plans to revoke the residence permits of foreign nationals involved in the violent riots that erupted in Nice on October 17. One-third of those arrested were foreign nationals, while 12 police officers were injured as rioters looted shops and caused widespread damage.
b) French police have released the suspect in the Trappes attack, allegedly a racially motivated terror attack, to psychiatric evaluation on suspicions he may be unfit for interrogation and trial.
