8. There’s a type of Xer we don’t like

… the one cynically exploiting other Xers for hits on their accounts:

The worst are those exploiting genuinely unfortunate souls with situations, conditions … God bless them … and inventing situations, often including stock photos of a child in traction, whatever, in order to boost sympathy traffic.

Then we get those who say something like: “If you think Mr. Bukele’s doing a great job in El Salvador, retweet ME and give me me me a personal traffic boost.” (Obviously not in those exact words.)

Then there are those starting insulting arguments to get hits and to hurt someone.

Then there are the empire builders, using current world situations for their own “shows”, e.g. The Johnny Roberts Show … and where most Xers have a “following you” and “follow back” pair of buttons, these people use “following you” and “subscribe”, buy me a coffee … they lock you into paying them money, giving out card details. You can never just follow them back.
