3. The policy of Denunciation

In Russia, very early in my stay there, the landlady told me about the Soviet policy of Denunciation, a formal policy in which a neighbour goes to a special office in the yard to officially denounce you, which results in official investigation, followed by whatever action they deem necessary and you now having a next to criminal record, a person of some concern to Authority.

Similar to the Blgr Ggl policy of anonymous complaint, Blgr Ggl then shuts down the site, pending investigation and summary punishment by some anonymous bunch.

What it does to social cohesion was of course the general idea planned into it. Soviet era but the office was still down there in the yard.

a) French Users flock to Bitchat amid Social Network shutdown fears’. France’s interior minister floated suspending social networks amid riots. Offline messenger Bitchat surged. France’s Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez may not have been trying to advertise the messenger app bitchat when he said that “social networks are becoming a real problem” and that the government had the option of “suspending the use of the networks,” but that’s exactly what seems to have happened.

b) France faces a critical choice as Zemmour eyes 2027 election amid rising unrest. France faces unprecedented civil unrest as coordinated riots by radical left-wing groups and immigrant-descended populations erupted in September, resulting in over 6,000 arrests and damage to more than 1,000 schools.

c) UK. Small-Boats Crossings are a policy choice, not a fact of nature. Small-boat crossings persist because of political decisions, and Britain has the power to reverse them.

d) Germany plans to force social media platforms to fill 20% of algorithmic recommendations with ‘state-approved’ content.
The German government wants to spam social media feeds of citizens with content from “pre-approved” media sources. The growing anti-government sentiment may have something to do with that trend.

e) Israel seals off Hebron and prepares full West Bank closure. The order came four days before a general election and a week after masked settlers attacked a convoy of European diplomats in the same territory.

1. Around the blogs

There’s enough current horror to blog on for sometime but I thought it still might be of value to revisit old haunts and one was Bruce Charlton’s:

“People apparently have difficulty understanding (or explaining to themselves) just why post-November 2022 “AI” is qualitatively worse than the previously-existing computer-media phenomena – such as the internet, social media and smartphones.

The answer is quite simple: upfront and no secret.

As usual; probably because evil must be invited into the heart in order to damage the soul; the agents of strategic evil always tell us what they intend for us, before they try to do it.

In this case, “They” have told us explicitly that the purpose of “AI” is to replace human thinking, judgment, creativity – and loving-relationships.”

In Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile, Hercule Poirot delivers this famous warning to Jacqueline de Belfort:

“Do not open your heart to evil. Because if you do, evil will come… It will enter in and make its home there, and after a little while it will not go away.”

Poirot says this after noticing Jacqueline’s intense, consuming bitterness and her dangerous obsession with reclaiming her former fiancé, Simon Doyle, who left her for her wealthy friend, Linnet Ridgeway.
