… and it all happens down that route, which is better than trying it in town. First meeting was a young chap with dog coming the other way and I was: “Ay-ah,” and he was: “Or-right then,” as a statement, not a question. Mainly friendly faces.
The lady in the kitchen attached to the office was there, waved … think I was a bit effusive last time, apparently I needed to do the Malhamdale wave.
Reached the end, the circular turnabout, started the return, a lady with sausage was parallel and taking the high path while I took the low one by the watta, observing the birdies on the millpond … interesting that Steve mentioned a storm. Still nothing here.
Anyway, she was really shifting with that sausage and I said so to her through the foliage, that I was no slouch m’sel’. Well, within the space of … I’d estimate 20-30 seconds … we knew that the dog is in trouble just now, did sommit to her new carpet but she put (didn’t catch the substance) and it should be ok … he’s forgiven … troubles having a dog, yes?
She veered left, I took the scenic route right, ship in the way, never mind. Anyway, got to the approach to the bridge and blow me down but she was already halfway scross the bridge. I was mortified … she was at least in her mid 30s, I should have been faster than that. Do not mention the word age to me.
Got back in maybe a minute less today, recovery about 6/7 mins, which I’ll take. One thing, chaps and chapesses … at 50, I could go a week off gym without losing too much mass … used to put 2.5 kg on the next session instead of the usual 5kg.
Nowadays, one day off and I’m losing mass. That ain’t good. There will come a point when the effort no longer outweighs the loss. Don’t wish to think about that day, hopefully a long way away.
Nice constitutional, lovely hearing the accents, the wildlife … should have been doing this before although the invaders have already been and don’t think they liked our area, a both poorer and salubrious area side by side. We have bad attitudes here.
