Well, Beloved was so excited when he saw the Invisible Apple Cake recipe on the blog and I must confess to liking the look of it – so today I made one!
Usually I spend ages getting things together to cook, but I had everything in the ingredients list, so that made things easy. I popped into the garden and plucked 4 good-looking apples. The batter was straightforward and flattening the apples was fun as I ended up using my fingers and got all gloopy.
We just had to try a slice after I’d photographed the result. I couldn’t report on cooking the cake without telling you how it tastes!! It has a bit of a soggy bottom (because I had the cooling grid the wrong way up!!) But it tastes really good. I shall make it again, no doubt.
I’d give all patrons a slice, but I can’t fit it into the laptop orifices to send it…. So you will have to drool instead.

I can smell the caramelised apples from here!😋
Can always hide the soggy bottom later with some custard.
Looks delicious. A large slice with coffee – very tempting.
