No real drama to report across the pond

Toodles reports that they’re “doing well”, it moved more into Florida. The bureau says it hit 50 miles east of Pensacola so that’s a relief in a way for Pensacola. Heading for Bham but gradually losing power. 45 mph is what we get fairly often here. Yes I’m in a storm zone but it usually hits the back of the house obliquely here.

In other news:

As I type, there’s the noise of girls downstairs, screaming. From the noise, not young women but girls. Looking out, two of them by a wall across the road at 0339:

A young man in hoody approaches them. He seems to advise and moves on up the hill. The girls head down the hill, a third joins them, all screaming. They head back up the hill, into the light. Done up in modest finery, apart from the trainers. Quick estimate 14 years. One quite drunk.

Obvious question is why? Where are the fathers? Or in single parent houses or flats … where are the mothers?

They’ve gone now, that older young man telling them off.
