Neighbours

This post builds on an article at Lord Toby’s site which you can read in full here, within the Unherdables system … or you could go over to Lord Toby’s. I received it via newsletter.

My half of this post really makes little sense unless you do view that Lord Toby article first to see what view the author took. So, here’s my comment:

There’s a standard response, short of calling someone a waycist, and it’s to say, here paraphrased by me, “Well I know someone from way back, lived around the corner, a shop actually, and he was a delightful chap. Yes, his first name was Mo but I never, as a customer, had any trouble.”

The second part of that … he’d rush to say I was putting words into his mouth, which is true … anything after Mo was more my comment on that argument. We do need to be accurate in this.

There was a meme some months back, which had a swimmer in a circular pool, saying, “Honestly, I’ve never had any trouble with sharks (plural) and it showed his one pet shark swimming with him. However, an overhead crane end was tipping a dozen new sharks into the pool at that exact moment.

I once had some Indian friends and went with a girl to Russia on a visit. Zero drama. I had a Jamaican mate in my workplace and he was fine but there was also a Sudanese and he was not. I’ve already mentioned that, whilst in Russia one summer, the govt brought in a hundred Somalian youths for a holiday … they were all expelled after two weeks to stop the rapes and race war.

My own living quarters, a house I’d been in … the next door tenant, a Brit from London … was the worst I’ve ever seen and heard … wild parties at all hours with gay violence, physical fights. There was another in the flat down the corridor who ended up in prison for drugs and women … he was a straight Brit. There’d been another on the other side to me who was belligerent … half the time he was ok, care home lad.

There were three others came in … Polish and two Romanians … ideal neighbours and life in that place was an idyll. I’m just stating what was in each case. It shirley comes down to behaviour, does it not? But behaviour, as the article above states, does appear more commonly in certain groups. Not going to name those groups as Plod might try to make something of it.

Also, I’m running it here at HQ, rather than at OoL, because I really must, as regulars know, control this specific discussion, specifically here, this morning. Strictly legally, as admin, I am responsible for my commenters. Regulars are good at euphemising, disguising when they wish to do so (hint, hint) … more occasionals are sometimes another story.

Plus we are on a list … I have evidence inside the site, which euphemistically they call algorithm. So, dear commenter, please be careful in your comment.
