2. Another sunny day here in Poole. What a blessing to have a nice long warm summer after 5 months of non-stop cloud, rain and drizzle. We’re at the start of three hot days and midday here on the the south coast it’s 27°C. Tops of the trees are waltzing to a gentle breeze from the south east. Moving on the Solar Eclipse this evening is the first over Europe since 1999. Should last about two minutes. For those holidaying in Palma, Spain the ‘path of totality’ runs right through the city: 100% eclipse. Back home a good partial eclipse begins at 17:59 BST and ends at 20:10 BST. NEVER LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN.

   Watching a program on PBS last night about the upcoming eclipse and for a moment it showed an aircraft used by NASA that looked very familiar to these eyes..
