6. NHS Rich List

TPA news:

The NHS is forever pleading poverty. Yet while patients wait in corridors and taxpayers are told to dig ever deeper to fork over more cash, the management class at the top of the health service is doing rather nicely.

The latest TPA NHS Rich List lifts the lid on senior pay across 220 NHS trusts, and the figures are hard to defend.

In 2024-25, 1,758 senior managers received at least £100,000 in total remuneration, covering salary, expenses, benefits, bonuses and pension benefits. Some 574 had salaries higher than the prime minister, up 12 per cent in a single year. Even more strikingly, the number receiving at least £300,000 in total remuneration surged from 125 to 292, a rise of 134 per cent.

For patients stuck on waiting lists, these numbers will be galling enough. But the real sting is that bumper pay packets are still showing up at trusts with dreadful performance. East Cheshire was the worst-performing trust in England for A&E waiting times for the second year running, with just 43 per cent of attendances seen within four hours. Yet its chief executive’s total remuneration rose from £172,500 to £377,500. Crazy, right?

  1. 8. Of plandemics or no demics at all – there was a lot of discussion on these pages at the time, in fact it was one of the reasons I came here, so I could take part. Most of it was about the vaccine and what to do when eventually it became available. Didn’t take long to reach a consensus. No thanks. What I saw during lockdown was every supermarket was open for business, with no change in opening hours – literally thousands using them every day in my area. I thought that odd when a pandemic had been declared.

There were many oddities: the IFR (infection fatality rate) for those who contracted SARS-COV-2 was no greater than a severe flu season. The so-called experts wouldn’t entertain the use of previously successful therapies for RNA viruses. No HCQ or Ivermectin. No monoclonal antibodies. Just intubation and Remdesivir – lot of people died when they got that wrong. Many doctors used just steroids, and it worked. It worked because they’d used them before on similar coronas. The medical profession came over all thick for some reason.

    ……

JH: Which is why I avoid them like the plague.

  2. 10. That’s a handsome coach, but as I remember them they often were handsome before the National Bus Company came along.

  3. 9. Farage and all that – jazz at his news conference this morning. We’re cooked. I’ve said it before: politics won’t fix it. None of them has the guts to put right what we never voted for in the first place. As always it’s not what they say it’s what they do. From Tony “we’ll make this country truly multicultural” Blair onward they all have to go. Else we’ll lose our homeland and become an oppressed minority in the process. If you don’t learn from history it will kick you harder than you’ve ever been kicked.
