15. Remember that this, from Quora, is an American take
… it’s US focused. Occasionally they have a really good reader item … at least there’s one in Mon 16 where she’s obviously put in some work. There are enough of value to keep reciving the newsletter imho.

a) Guido reports…..The Court of Appeal has overturned a High Court ruling against the Home Office’s proscription of Palestine Action. A ruling from February…
Palestine Action was formally proscribed by the UK last July. In February the High Court ruled that the government’s ban was “unlawful and disproportionate.” Disputed by the Court of Appeal now…
b) Two men have been found guilty of carrying out a string of arson attacks on a car and properties linked to Sir Keir Starmer.
Ukrainians Roman Lavrynovych, 22, and Romanian Stanislav Carpiuc, 27, acted on the orders of a Russian-speaking Telegram contact called “El Money”, the Old Bailey heard.

This part is understandable, being bloggable:

These next two are virtually unbloggable … blogs are in potrait form, not wide vista landscape. Were there some natural divide, we might be able to run it. Thus, it relied heavily on your two finger screen enlarging. Now, if you can’t do this, instead using laptop or PC … not sure how you’ll enlarge it.

a) Should we rejoice at the arrival of Pope Leo XIV in France from September 25 to 28, 2026? Yes, certainly, for the arrival of a pope is always accompanied by numerous graces for the countries that warmly welcome him. However, this will be a very perilous visit, given its political and social context. (JH: Really?)
b) A workshop manufacturing lethal weapons using 3D printing, intended for sale, was dismantled in Pau, and four men were charged.
c) The questions [that] Dublin won’t ask. A series of high-profile attacks has intensified debate over asylum and border controls, yet Ireland’s governing and media elites remain reluctant to confront the issue directly.
d) [The] “Guardians of Democracy” Greens join effort to block AfD Congress. Political tensions in Germany are escalating ahead of the right-wing opposition Alternative für Deutschland’s (AfD) federal party congress in Erfurt next month….
e) Lies, damn lies and Met Office claims. The Met Office has claimed that a new Welsh temperature record for springtime was set in Cardiff last month….

(0616) Morning all … slept a fair time but not relaxed … unfortunately, we can succumb to the connection between heart/body and brain/thinking and it’s a slow process of “slippage”. Trouble is … those experiencing this ageing thing and all the niggling issues generally don’t write them up for their blog. As mentioned, it’s a slow process, sped up by seeded clouds, land, water, chemical infested food etc. etc. All right, let’s not dwell, too much to cover.
However am I going to get through these twenty or so items this morning? Only way I can see is choose a starting point and what better place than last night’s kerfuffle between a Reformer and Restorer (me). It’s not yet in my profile though. Also, just this morning, am going to experiment with a new format … newer below … which is not strictly how blogs work. Not to worry.
The great kerfuffle last night
As succinctly as I can … dead tired, it was annoying me the outright lies told by what I thought was Reform. I should have gathered there were all sorts of outside agencies at work. One lady for Reform, Dovey, had put a line by line refutation of a guy writing drivel … there is no way Restorers write that way on X unless provoking … and ladies are easily provoked. So are we but ladies want to have it all out in detail. Ok, ok.
I started checking out this guy and traced him, through a number of avatar changes, to Fort Bragg, Florida. Commenting on Restore and Reform? Purrlease!
So I wrote to her, saying we were being played. The instant I posted, X removed that reply. I tried again, removed. And again. All right, I got a comment through, asking her to wait, just wait, as I was going to do the reply as a screenshot:

Had she waited? Had she heck … she’s a woman (in the nicest possible way). She had launched into a long, point by point defence (this is around midnight, mind you) and it was a good defence.
That’s when I realised that she was just a British person like us, an educated one too, adept at online. I’m thinking, “Why the hell are we opposed? Given that we’re the same demographic, same nation? Actually … many of the same concerns. Difference? She thinks the sun shines out of sweet Nige, we won’t have a bar of the smug creep. Not with raped thousands of girls, stabbings, mass prayer blocking public places, caterwauling and then that other demographic who adore brawls anywhere … in shops, on the street etc. with stabbings.
Answer? Parties! Split because of the actions of Yusuf Farage first and don’t try to worm out of that … then Lowe’s full on reaction, as I would have, as you would have. And the bunnies in the ranks? Us? We fight the battles on X.
And at that point, X notified me that my time was up … I’d had my quota for the day. You whaa?
Some toerag on X … not sure it’s Nikita Biers or a minion, is playing mind games, on top of who the other interferers are from the Establishment.
Anyway, some other guy came in and had followed this … handle BigglesVII … and he arbitrated … no one is saying, Dovey, that you did wrong. I added … but someone was doing so. He mentioned trolls, even within Restore (Reform too I’m sure). I mentioned X but that’s not the end of it … Apple, WP, Ggl … all companies/agencies with agendas.
Anyway, Dovey said she was exhausted, going to bed … but she was happier. Why had I bothered, not being well myself? Something in her said she was just one of us, differing on this or that. …/END.

16. How clean is the Burnham/Nandy ticket?
We’ve been reproached for a few days on why we’re not gunning for Labour, only Reform. Your word is my command … from one of our Unherdables:

12. Taxpayers Alliance
“The benefits bill is completely out of control. Spending is due to hit £407 billion by 2030-31. As we revealed in our submission to the Timms review, there are now nearly 200,000 households with an income of £100,000 receiving Personal Independence Payments (PIP), up from just 98,000 in 2021-22.
Catching the attention of the media, our findings could be found in the Daily Mail and Express, while Shimeon Lee told the Telegraph:
“The surge in the number of these households since 2021-22 has coincided with the soaring cost of disability benefits. The Government must introduce means-testing to ensure the system remains sustainable for those who need it most.”
With our benefits dashboard showing successful PIP claims for things like acne, food intolerance, and writer’s cramp, it’s easy to see how the bill has gotten so out of hand.
As if to prove Cabinet Office minister Pat McFadden’s claim that every conversation he has is “who can we tax in order to pay benefits to others”, ministers are apparently exploring tax rises instead of clamping down on welfare to cover the shortfall for defence.”
Going to run the jazz first up, then some tasks, then a rejuvenating snooze, then politics to take us out. Forgive me.
(1030) Uniform cloud out there. Slowly coming out of yesterday’s wipeout, buoyed by the way it recovers itself, the ole mechanism when given half a chance.
The chaps and chapesses have dropped various drops
… and I’m trying to keep up today … this below is the advantage I have, seeing them in order. The order below, top to bottom, is DAD, Steve, Andy, IYE, IYE, Toodles:

IYE is right that one just needs to know where to look.
Meanwhile, DAD at 1411:1 runs a Phillips and UKJon thing:

Have a close look. Jon is anti Restore and Phillips is a nutter … end yet they get this sentiment right … asking does Two Tier have the slightest idea what it’s like for a woman now to walk down the street?
That’s our message too … so why are we apart? Look no further than Yusuf who represents the trouble himself, with his protege Farage. Yet Alex, Nige’s ex lover, is against his stance. Restore though is for her stance on this. Make it make sense.
Then look at the likes and reposts line above … greyed out, not available. Yet people have obviously done so. Or is it that such as us are banned from commenting? Or what?

“This night, I have been in Spain.” (Henry VIII’s bro)
Where do the rains in Spain fall?
Youtube have just decided to put up the old song by Mink de Ville:
Willie de Ville had a unique sound (AI overview):
“Mink DeVille’s sound is a rich, cinematic blend of early rock and roll, Latin-infused rhythms, 1960s R&B, and Cajun roots music. Led by frontman Willy DeVille’s signature gravelly vocals, the band successfully transitioned from the gritty CBGB punk scene into a timeless, genre-spanning musical style.”
There’s a fair bit of 50’s big city Hispanic street gang (West Side Story) in the song, the toughness of the street. Melodic for all that. Willie de Ville himself was quite asocial (a bit like me at times). Not antisocial but certainly not the social animal. Probably liked small cohorts of friends … around the west. Human foibles plus. He wrote the book on that.
The performance above was in 1989 in Bonn, near the end of his life. MdeV always appealed more to European sensibilities … not so much to Americans, except with cult fans. The Brits? Hmmmm, not sure if they liked or not.
