Wednesday [11 till close of play]

(1739) Evening all. I’m back.

13. Is the balcony necessary?

12. Whatever Labour touches …

11. Steve corner

There’s Steve and Katie at 1401.

Southampton selection:

“A BRAWL just kicked off between pro-Henry Nowak demonstrators and riot police. “HENRY! HENRY! HENRY!” The crowd is filled with absolutely livid demonstrators who were DEMANDING the police kneel for Nowak the same way they did for George Floyd.

“Hundreds gathered outside Southampton Central Police Station following the guilty verdict in the murder of Henry Nowak. In this speech, Tommy Robinson addresses the crowd and speaks about the questions many people believe still need answering. He discusses the treatment of Henry after the attack, public confidence in policing, concerns raised by local residents, and why so many people travelled from across the country to stand in solidarity with Henry’s family.” (TR)

Southampton – is not that far from where I live: 40 mins by car. Two of my nephews live in the suburbs and they both know Portswood. It’s a bit rough in parts but not too bad. Several thousand turned out to protest Henry Nowak’s treatment by the police but the actual number doing the rioting was very small by comparison. The bloke pressed into the road in the screenshot is on the receiving end of a copper’s knee. Five or six times, to the head. That is not a recognised arrest and restraint method. That is all. (Steve)

Wednesday [6 to 10]

(0915) Next up is organic milk at 0959. There’ll then be a hiatus, then films at midday and at 1400, just to cheer us up a bit … that will be that until late afternoon, dearest readers. (0915)

7. Weitd things happen inside cyberspace

… particularly on X. There’s no predicting (almost) what will “take” and what will be passed over…

6. David Shaw on Mandelson

“Let us start with the sheer desperation. The files reveal a handwritten letter from Peter Mandelson literally begging Foreign Secretary David Lammy for the Washington job. Mandelson promised that if they appointed him, they would “never regret it.” Less than a year later, the entire Labour government is collapsing over it.

Now look at the security vetting. It was an absolute scam. When asked to list his foreign contacts, Mandelson complained. An official literally emailed him to just list a “handful of names” to “reassure the vetting team,” openly admitting the process was “quite artificial.” They actively helped him fake his background check!

The Foreign Office knew exactly how toxic this was. In the leaked internal Q&A documents, the FCDO desperately tries to wash its hands of the scandal. They explicitly drafted lines stating: “FCDO advice was not sought, nor given.” Starmer completely bypassed the experts to force this Epstein linked appointment through on his own.”

Wednesday [1 to 5]

(0658) Apart from awakening unrefreshed, with low cloud out there, oppressive, dark, some bizarre things have been happening both in cyberworld and in RL. The thing readers need to bear in mind is that this is another half day for me, a morning only up till maybe 1000. That is … everything must be posted plus anything scheduled for the afternoon, before 10 a.m. Continued in Wed 1… (0752)

How to celebrate a football win by a “Paris” team- French Style.

Combs-la-Ville (77): After PSG’s victory, 200 people broke into a swimming pool and swam illegally in the middle of the night.

Lisieux (14): Mortar fire against police, containers set on fire, and a man in his twenties loses two fingers after PSG’s victory

Perpignan (66): After PSG’s victory, minors “arriving in small groups” fired mortars and threw stones at police officers…..

(JH: And so on over in France.)

1. Continued from the opening remarks at the top

Yes, there’s a 2/3 day visit today, domestic and medical. Interesting that some very bizarre things are happening out there.

First is Toods’ reports on strange things happening at that end, inc. one on Grifty. Someone, maybe YT, maybe letter agency, has messed with her latest, which I skimmed through and what’s the best way to describe it? It’s as if she were being raided, it might be her scream, might be some girl at a party, who knows … overlaying what she was possibly putting together on her usual topic.

At the same time, our own IYE and Torquaymada have been dropping things on that same topic, which caused me to leave a comment under Torquaymada. However, regulars would know I can’t do that on a Wednesday … and why. At the same time, the sites or the ipads are playing up, affecting composing posts. That latter is ongoing here, not just today. Plus I’m a tad unwell right now.

Anyway, expect the unexpected … and the most unexpected thing is if nothing strange occurs later, ha ha. Best get down to it, limited time, which may mean, droppers, being unable to signpost some things for awhile, at least today.
