  1. Clear blue skies here. There has been since Wednesday afternoon. 22.0°C at 10h30, short shirtsleeve weather.

  2. 9. Civil war is the preferred choice of Them. Better than revolution, doncha know?

They can clamp down on all of us that way ‘for our own good’ while they live it up on their newly purchased beach resorts.

  3. It is relevant that there are 500,000 Sikhs potentially carrying legally. It means that for decades Sikhs have been carrying without issue until one has gone crazy. Just like millions of Brits carried guns without issue. The Stasi just waiting for one to make laws about it. How many plod are firearms officers, how many of them have killed innocents carrying table legs or whatever? How many laws came out of that? Zero. What a shock. It isn’t the weapons or who is able to carry but the fact our government want us disarmed. It must boil their piss that farmers and hunters have guns. They make it as difficult as possible to do so and tighten the rules up every few years. It’s for our own good.

The problem with knives is that anyone can get one. From a basic butter knife to a Rambo style combat knife. Sure, in their totalitarian way they put the onus on retailers so you have to be 25 to buy a butter knife, the same knife at home in your kitchen, just waiting to be sharpened by scraping on a rock. Crazy.

Bear in mind we can carry as well. A foldable penknife of less than 3 inches, double that of Two Tiers willy, is a legally carry if you can justify it to Plod. A Swiss Army Knife qualifies as something like opening boxes, cutting garden twine, etc. is OK but they do like to confiscate them and you don’t usually get them back so no expensive Swiss Army Knives. Mine I was given in a Queens award back in 1979, Yes, I am that old. Old enough to remember having a shotgun with no license and a handgun just to shoot at targets. Ah, the olden days when we were free and not serfs of the state.

So it isn’t the small percentage of people that justify being disarmed. It is the power of the state wanting a monopoly on violence against persons. One of the first requirements of any totalitarian government.

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
