12. So, escaped all the bad news momentarily

Checked YouTube recommendeds … one of my fave reactors right there … with a CCR song of yore … goodness, how long ago was all that now?

Right at the start of the song, YT rudely cut to ad … a bleedin’ Indian at a desk, eff off … I click out, back in again. Why a reaction, why not just the song? It means a lot to me, seeing how a few generations later, how someone will react, plus she’s easy on the eyes and ears.

Uh huh, Jon Fogerty reprised the theme decades later, picked up by maybe a Russian here and he puts a nice video behind it. Jon Fogerty good as usual, band not bad. Hmmmmm … it’s not CCR, it lacks the CCR touch but at least it’s something in the “Grapevine” style.

Er … wow … two points stuck out. Decades ago, I was in Oz’s Northern Territory, had taken the road at right angles to the main Darwin-Adelaide highway, I was looking for Crocodile Dundee swamp country with crocs or gators … they’d just rescued a guy from a tree after 36 hours, crocs were around the foot of the tree snapping upwards.

Yes, beautiful area near Katherine, birds in flight etc. but the road was a bit iffy … asphalt and yet soft edges. Gave it away and turned the car, heading back to the highway.

Er … right in front of me, a tornado thingy crossing the road, the sound a cacophony … they called it a cyclone in that part of Oz … it wasn’t coming my way, not at all. It was spinning in a circle, a twister, but the whole phenomenon was slowly moving across the road, left to right, was not interested in me.

Well that’s what this footage in the song had captured. And at the end, calm again, night time, typical northern Oz too, though I suppose this one was America. Reflected though … that cyclone had been between me and the highway. I was er … cut off. Just the birds, the crocs and me.

11. Just so out of it here

Bad mistake being on top of the jobs around midday, danger of crashing, sleeping but sleeping is fraught (not “with”, just fraught).

Awoke about 1800, checked inbox, blog and X and was right in the middle of battles Royal … Reform lambasting Restore, Nige saying that the verdict releasing the two lowlifes was two tier, so he’s referred for prosecution … utter madness on the part of the govt and minions.

Things in America not so hot with Donny and Pammy doing very weird things … IYE’s on top of that … then Steve and Andy here:

We’re certainly in bizarre times and the old bod’s a bit achy here, need another sleep, it’s all catching up.

Back over here and the young Polish guy murdered by the Sikh … rumours that three policewomen attended, not men, now on leave out of the country maybe, many railing against the whole story, Hants plod saying they were sorry, the Sikh lied to them … bizarre.
