JH: In my role as redactor and signposter, there is simply no way I can deeply explore all at the same time, esp. Steve’s, which are copious. This is the whole point of NOWP … I sketchily signpost here but the real reading and watching has to be yours over there, deciding what you will and won’t look into.
Meanwhile, I am seriously taking a set against “journo” pieces, having been involved in that field myself. For example, the clickbait “n4 will really amaze you” or the use of “Breaking!” or “Watch now!” presupposes that the facts cannot stand on their own … they have to be sensationalised with “Shocking!” and other such bilge.
Being a quite ornery or fractious or curmudgeonly type … if a poster tries to “lead” me or goad through manipulation, I just click out, scroll past. Remember, I am NOT referring to Steve, IYE, DAD and crew … I’m referring to more journalistic types embellishing, gilding the lily.
In fact, the more “boring” we are at Unherdables, the better … “juss the facts, ma’am” as Dragnet used to say. It’s dangerous … self-praise … nauseating too, but “our lot here”, imho, do a fine job getting a fair bit in front of our readers to explore. And the whole idea is we are not The Oracle, we are just starter points to chase up.
