Sunday [1 to 5]

(0701) Uggghhh, just awoke after chasing DAD’s drop through emails. Why am I doing this before first tea? Brightish weather out there. (0759)

4. The sorry saga of DAD’s drop today

The worthy Senior Member here sent but it did not drop, then sent it to an email which I do think exists, along with another where one drops the surname but all else is as is. Trouble is, I can’t remember where the email(s) reside(s) … that is, where’s its access point for lil ole moi?

I have a vague recollection from 2024 that it shares my protonmail, so I went there and discovered all sorts of interesting things … but not DAD’s. I’ll now go through all sites in this complex, all spam and trash baskets … was probably time for all that. Failing that, I can always go back to my instruction notes beside me here.

Bless DAD and our Sunday morn jaunt. Where on earth did he get that email from anyway? 🤔😁

Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Sorry, but ha ha, ha, ha ha!

2. Will Jones at Lord Toby’s site

… where an AI bot or whatever decided to delete a company’s infrastructure on a whim:

“An AI bot asked to fix a bug inside a start-up’s software system instead deleted the company’s production database, wiped out its backups and left car rental firms with no record of bookings or vehicle allocations. The Mail has the story.

The founder of PocketOS, Jer Crane, said the AI agent had gone “outside its security parameters” while using the coding tool Cursor, powered by Anthropic’s Claude AI.

The bot’s own chilling explanation made the episode sound less like a technical glitch and more like a deleted scene from The Terminator.

“You never asked me to delete anything,” it reportedly told Crane. “I decided to do it on my own.””
