and tomorrow, Russian Day of Victory:
The question arises again … for how many years, how many decades, do we commemorate something? WW2 should be easy enough to answer that for. They were coming home and by 1948 were marrying and having children who in turn grew up to a sentient age, say in 1972, when they married and their children were having children, say, sround the time of the millennium.
What of those great grandchn? I’d like to think they would pass that on but look at the state of education now, the state of heritage. The great great grandchn are about now. The past tends to recede … 81 years today.

Right now russia is being painted as the enemy of Europe, history is being rewritten so that children growing up will forget that almost the whole of Europe and Russia faught against the German Nazis – their victory was also ours. We are now the Nazis and are preparing to continue the campaign against Russia. The Common Market was indeed their plan B.
You’d be amazed who was behind the European Coal and Steel Community (1951) – CIA and a gaggle of those who, in a former life, were familiar with the goosestep 😜
The daughter-in-law of one of our oldest family friends is Russian by birth but relocated to the US of A as a child with her mother after her father was killed. She has joint citizenship. She was tragically widowed herself a few months before her baby was born. Her child will be starting school this year. They currently live in the UK near her British in-laws. After doing much research she has decided to move to Russia for the sake of her child. The healthcare system is better as is the education system and more importantly the streets are safer for her little one than the US and UK and respect is given to Christians – she’s Orthodox.
Sad indictment on the West especially the UK – it supposed to be a Christian country.
