  • US Sinks Seven Iranian Small Boats Harassing Cargo Ships in the Strait of Hormuz – Trump Threatens To ‘Blow Mullahs Regime off the Face of the Earth’ (JH: Hmmmmm, mixed bag, that.)
  • Texas Governor Gregg Abbott on US Congressional Redistricting – “We Are Going to Eliminate Using Race to Draw These Congressional Lines” (JH: Lying bstd has approved a Malsi City.)
  • Two Stabbings by Moose Limb Migrant in Barcelona Leave a Young Woman Dead and a Man Fighting for His Life (The bstds in govt ignoring it are one day going to hang imho.)
  • UK Government Raises National Terrorism Threat Level to “Severe”
  • Iran Resumes Strikes Against UAE
  • The Oskol Trap: How One Bridge Could Sever Ukraine’s Supply Lines
  • Much more.

Steve also quotes Yorkshire Lass (one of mine too):

“Did you know Camilla flew on a commercial flight back home from her US state visit to the U.K with very minimal security around her. She just casually wandering around the airport to catch her commercial flight, like every central casting actor does when they have played an optical role overseas. Central casting actors are put in place for the illusion that the original deep state players are still about, when in fact the original ones have had their assets seized under the military, and are completely bankrupt. Many of them have either been completely removed from the board, are being controlled by the mil to play a part, or are still alive throwing others under the bus whilst being interrogated for information.”

King Arthur Fan:

“The British Royal family was taken out almost a decade ago. You’re watching a movie.”

Plus a meme with Chas 3 kissing Donny’s hand.

3. Sometimes there’s very funny footage, memes, comment

In this one on X, there’s some guy coming down an escalator like royalty, police everywhere keeping crowds back … except no one is cheering or even noticing. It’s not even a crowd.

The opening tagline is, “Who the hell is he?” Much comment below.

Until one in particular commented: “Enrico Pallazzo.”

Yeah right … you either know or you don’t. ☺️ Ggl him.

Message from DAD

“Weather report from Western France.

After 40 days of beautiful weather (including about 17 days with 100% sunshine) the weather has changed.   I hope that we do not have 40 days of rain.   I measured 12 mm yesterday morning and 24 mm this morning.   At midnight we had a thunderstorm that battered the Climbing Roses.

In France May is the month of Bank Holidays.   May 1st; 8th and Ascension (the 15th this year).”

Keep smiling,   DAD

a) France. Less than a year out from France’s next presidential elections, National Rally (RN) party chief Jordan Bardella is doubling down on a core plank of its: Welfare for nationals, first and foremost….

b) Zack Polanski is Britain’s first digital-native party leader. Our analysis of his “likes” on Bluesky shows how the eco-populist bristles at criticism. (JH: Cheers for the heads up, DAD. I must make a point of goading him, joining in with the rest of us.)

c) Reform UK Plans Migrant Detention Centres in Green-Voting Areas.

d) In a display of cross-party co-ordination, Germany’s Social Democratic Party (SPD), Greens and The Left, have announced they are halting activity on the platform X…. (JH: Yeah, just P-off, the lot of you.)

1. Some sort of op ed

a. There are all sorts of signals coming out of this front page, there are people who would like to know how I am. Some sort of op ed or discursive thing is a good sign of good sleep. When DAD kicks in, I see the ticker, hear the bell. Good … he’s best at n2 slot and Steve at n4, the rest is from the reserve stack of sshots, also checking the news.

b. Cinco de Mayo. Was looking it up … seems we must say SEEN-ko de MAY-o, whereas I’ve been saying Chinko, as in Chinese. Seems it’s some Mexican victory over France. Uh huh. But the Hispanics in the US made it into a big thing. Uh huh … whatever’s right, guys. Is this that pinyata festival thing where they beat some spherical thing and sweets come out? Whatever.

One reply

  1. 1. Good morning James. Cinco de mayo is a big festival in Mexico, celebrating the victory over the second French empire. I would have never heard of it over here had it not been for its inclusion in the film Two Mules for Sister Sarah. Clint Eastwood and Shirley Maclaine star in this western not entirely typical of Eastwood’s ouvre. If you haven’t seen the film I strongly recommend it.

    ……

    JH: Ta, Andy.
