The future of AI

Lord T, whose field is IT (slightly longer profile below the article over at OoL plus Jstack, text copy backed up), has sent a piece on where “AI” is headed … he should know as he has to negotiate these things in a professional capacity. This is just the opening below:

  1. Lord T!
I was fascinated by your post on Machine Learning algorithms, dubbed AI, Artificial Intelligence, by dummies.

Frankly, I was wondering if you had gotten ‘AI’ to write your post that I read over at OoL. As I read your informative and somewhat depressing article, I would conjure up questions to ask you. No sooner had I written one and then another and another inside my skull ready to type it as I am presently typing you, there you were soon after answering, what caused me to ‘think’, and talking about my concern, or what I thought would be a gotcha statement, in your intelligent post on Machine Learning algorithms!

So where do we go from here? As alluded, nay, as you informed us, AI is quickly getting out of control. I have seen it happen in many ‘in the future film’ that lots of people my age have seen growing up last century and now as we are winding down in this century in which the robot, computer thing outsmarts the humans who developed the darn thing and now has turned on the ‘team’ and (who knows) may have fallen in love (of sorts) with the main human who developed the Machine Learning algorithm from a single math equation to what it is today.

Well now, to me this is a sign of the times. It is not so gloomy for some of us as it seems. It could be that all the souls who are meant to be born is winding down too. That kindly bearded man you mentioned (another discussion another time) has a plan and what seems the end of life as we know it just might be the end of life as we know it!

Man is so proud of himself for supposedly outsmarting even himself. Hey, congratulations to the geeks! I am related to the ultimate Geek; a cousin who is just so smart, truly I think he siphoned off most of my brain powers when we played as children and added to his already ample enough grey matter.

He is such a genius that he can hardly walk and chew gum at the same time, as the apt saying goes. I can do that! Chew and walk! Got it! 🫡

That cousin of mine, so brilliant he is, that sadly I could do a stand-up comedy routine about him. So it seems to me if anything such as AI is developed by Geekmans, there must be something that will fizzle out because of it having been developed by humans, even if the AIs are Machine Learned algorithms.

If not, there is still hope for those of us who are part of a certain family. The ultimate plan, that most geeks do not even get because of pridefulness, a plan already in the pipeline that no man, geek, nor the beast can alter it. The Creator of mathematics is not in the least daunted by the situation mankind has found himself.

Anyway, the post is very interesting, well thought out and written. Are you AI, Lord T?!
