One episode now and one film later … this below is a high demand series, who knows how long we have it for?
No particular point in running a review on such a well known tale and version of it … which is just as well as IMDb have shut down access to reviews and other details without paying them or going through hoops.
Whenever I watch an episode from this series I’m persuaded that Jeremy Brett was the best Holmes and David Burke the best Watson. The trouble is, there isn’t much in it, Basil Rathbone and Ronald Howard were excellent as Holmes too.
Anyhow, this was a fine example of Brett’s version although it were never filmed in Derbyshire.
