(0458) Good sleep, much recovered … that yesterday was always cause and effect, rather than from inside and as it dissipated, that was ok.

a) France. Policewoman chased and beaten by Far-Left Mob as ‘Student’ riots spread in France.
Violence swept major French cities on Thursday as student protests over secondary-school conditions descended into riots, arson and attacks on police and emergency workers. Nearly 2,000 people were arrested and 305 officers injured, while French intelligence services accused the far-left France Unbowed and affiliated groups of organising the wider mobilisation.
b) UK. What your energy subsidies cost.
A live, sourced tally of payments to renewable and low-carbon electricity generators — traced to the official registers.
c) Germany. AfD MP denied the right to adopt a dog over party affiliation
Vanessa Behrendt, family-policy spokeswoman for the AfD group in the state parliament, contacted Fortuna Animali about a dog the association is offering for re-homing.

d) EU funding for me, but not for thee?
On Tuesday, judges at the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) held hearings on a high-stakes financing dispute involving a controversial billboard and poster campaign in Czechia.
e) Wales. Is it something in the water in Wales that produces this stupidity in the Senedd? More laughs than Harry Secombe in the ‘Goon Show’.
3. For the very patient
This is from one of our regulars but I need to protect that person. The issue with the Prof is he does not reward haste but does reward patience, usually at fifteen minutes short of two hours. It’s a straight bargain for you, the watcher … obviously it being so slow is a ploy and it’s clearly not for those who cannot give over this time, as gems are embedded, I can assure you. It can be listened to rather than watched, which helps.

1. Lord Toby’s had this today
Anti-Ulez activist Kevin Rees, who blew up a camera enforcing London’s ultra-low emission zone scheme with a home-made bomb, has been jailed for 15 years. The Telegraph has more.
Kevin Rees, 63, a retired electrical appliances engineer, prompted a counter-terrorism investigation by detonating explosives in the camera in Sidcup, south London, at 6.45pm on Dec 6th 2023.
The improvised explosive device damaged cars and property up to 100m away, with shrapnel striking the outside of a child’s bedroom.
Rees, of Sidcup, was convicted after a trial at Woolwich Crown Court in January of one count of causing an explosion likely to endanger life. On Friday, Judge Anthony Bate sentenced him at the Old Bailey to 15 years in prison.

JH: With Lord Toby, find Daily Sceptic in brolls (access in navbar above) and it’s in there … if not yet, then in a few hours.
The question is … was the sentence draconian? I ask a different question … why alone? Maybe he’s protecting the others. A further question is for how long can they do it before too many weary and feel the game’s no longer worth the candle? Danny Tommo? 15 years for this chap?
Plus most I think are aware of the floodgate effect once something happens to one of our beloved leaders, not that I’d suggest anything for a moment.
