1. The state of play … an op ed of sorts

Being hopefully still of clear(ish) mind, still sceptical, even of my own shibboleths beyond the Trinity, the latter seeming in my heart to be more and more strongly indicated as we go on, one observes all the bits and pieces of evidence of what “the other side” has in mind, what’s been long term planned … so why not start with IYE’s kaitjustice (you can find her in a recent comment).

Then I strongly suggest leah (I’m about to re-read), plus other items we have up, plus those found through our blogrounds and other rounds. Some are better than others.

Andy’s comment was to the point:

Trying to understand what’s happening can be like viewing a massive canvas full of intricate detail. Looking at me corner of this canvas won’t tell the full story, a glance to the other side can reveal connections which would otherwise be missed. That’s why I read the captured scientific publications, what is discovered today will surely be weaponised tomorrow. Similarly an apparent throw away comment in a Grauniad op-ed today is tomorrow’s water cooler conversation and government policy next week. The canvas in front of us is full of information and it can give us a clue as to what the future holds.

There are some fine intellects contributing (Steve drops in David Starkey) … do your reading, peeps, inc. the forbidden reading … key scriptures of the Christian kind. Why would you turn away? Coz you’re programmed to … simple. Similarly, why are so many youngsters Woke? Coz they’re programmed to be.

There’s much to be said for learning from a wise person, as long as that person is driven by truth and other factors don’t start kicking in. Sherlock said to Watson, about Colonel Moran, about a tree:

Sherlock Holmes is comparing Colonel Sebastian Moran’s descent into crime to the unsightly, sudden eccentricity of a tree. He uses this metaphor to explain to Dr. Watson how men with distinguished pedigrees sometimes inexplicably deviate into evil. [12]

The specific conversation occurs in The Adventure of the Empty House when Holmes breaks down the criminal pedigree of his adversary (once famously noted in Holmes’s index as “The second most dangerous man in London”). [12345]

Holmes explains Moran’s eccentric turn to Watson:

“There are some trees, Watson, which grow to a certain height, and then suddenly develop some unsightly eccentricity. You will see it often in humans. I have a theory that the individual represents in his development the whole procession of his ancestors, and that such a sudden turn to good or evil stands for some strong influence which came into the line of his pedigree.” [12]

He theorizes that Moran, despite a brilliant military career and distinguished family, simply carried a fatal genetic predisposition to villainy that asserted itself in his later years.

Even a Pope can tell you things which start as truth, then one gets to the embellishments he/she adds, for his/her own reasons, such as in the old song Master Jack, by Four Jacks and a Jill:

Holmes used the metaphor of the tree trunk … the search for truth in a way and I in turn look at what people always revert to when pressed … for many today, Science, as perceived through their Royal Society lens or their Info Tech lens, their cyber lens, their chosen field … and then they look no further … western traditionalists revert to the philosophers … Aristotle, Plato, Kant … while those more ancient revert to the Gospels, plus certain OT texts, as a good starter.

Bearing all the above in mind, here are some items from this morning. First off, Rupert’s take on Saturday’s canvassing in Makerfield … methought it a most measured take … by no means Restore steamrolling it … but neither were Reform nor Labour. (See post Saturday 22 at Unherdables HQ).

Then I took a shot at Zoomers up to Gen X yesterday, pointing out that educational standards across the west dipped sharply after 1971, when courses started going Fabian Woke, open plan etc. This was one interesting response from a mid Gen Xer:

Then Donny and world events:

Uh huh. Meanwhile, the head techie at X writes:

Only the other day, one of our chaps sent something from Nawfal …shows just how careful one needs to be.

Now, take all that through the filters of Kaitjustice and Leah (see IYE in comments), then revert to what you revert to as your core truth, core gospel … and ask yourself the question … do the normies out there with the vote, inc. badly educated Zoomers and Millennials, ferret to anywhere near the extent required? Or do they latch onto first one “truth”, then a counter-truth, then another? Do we ourselves keep questioning?

But having found a core truth, do we further question that or have a bit of faith and incorporate it in our Canon?

  1. 3. Has anyone asked the demographic of the one who used the handcuffs? Just wondering if it is relevant. Also wondering 🤔 if they have a conscience.

    ……

    JH: Indeed.

  2. 2a. Taking pigs to market, or having dog shows during this period, seems good alternatives to me.

    • If there is separation between Church and State in France, why are Easter, Pentecost, Ascension and Christmas public holidays?
