Wednesday [6 to 10]

(0915) Next up is organic milk at 0959. There’ll then be a hiatus, then films at midday and at 1400, just to cheer us up a bit … that will be that until late afternoon, dearest readers. (0915)

6. David Shaw on Mandelson

“Let us start with the sheer desperation. The files reveal a handwritten letter from Peter Mandelson literally begging Foreign Secretary David Lammy for the Washington job. Mandelson promised that if they appointed him, they would “never regret it.” Less than a year later, the entire Labour government is collapsing over it.

Now look at the security vetting. It was an absolute scam. When asked to list his foreign contacts, Mandelson complained. An official literally emailed him to just list a “handful of names” to “reassure the vetting team,” openly admitting the process was “quite artificial.” They actively helped him fake his background check!

The Foreign Office knew exactly how toxic this was. In the leaked internal Q&A documents, the FCDO desperately tries to wash its hands of the scandal. They explicitly drafted lines stating: “FCDO advice was not sought, nor given.” Starmer completely bypassed the experts to force this Epstein linked appointment through on his own.”

Wednesday [1 to 5]

(0658) Apart from awakening unrefreshed, with low cloud out there, oppressive, dark, some bizarre things have been happening both in cyberworld and in RL. The thing readers need to bear in mind is that this is another half day for me, a morning only up till maybe 1000. That is … everything must be posted plus anything scheduled for the afternoon, before 10 a.m. Continued in Wed 1… (0752)

How to celebrate a football win by a “Paris” team- French Style.

Combs-la-Ville (77): After PSG’s victory, 200 people broke into a swimming pool and swam illegally in the middle of the night.

Lisieux (14): Mortar fire against police, containers set on fire, and a man in his twenties loses two fingers after PSG’s victory

Perpignan (66): After PSG’s victory, minors “arriving in small groups” fired mortars and threw stones at police officers…..

(JH: And so on over in France.)

1. Continued from the opening remarks at the top

Yes, there’s a 2/3 day visit today, domestic and medical. Interesting that some very bizarre things are happening out there.

First is Toods’ reports on strange things happening at that end, inc. one on Grifty. Someone, maybe YT, maybe letter agency, has messed with her latest, which I skimmed through and what’s the best way to describe it? It’s as if she were being raided, it might be her scream, might be some girl at a party, who knows … overlaying what she was possibly putting together on her usual topic.

At the same time, our own IYE and Torquaymada have been dropping things on that same topic, which caused me to leave a comment under Torquaymada. However, regulars would know I can’t do that on a Wednesday … and why. At the same time, the sites or the ipads are playing up, affecting composing posts. That latter is ongoing here, not just today. Plus I’m a tad unwell right now.

Anyway, expect the unexpected … and the most unexpected thing is if nothing strange occurs later, ha ha. Best get down to it, limited time, which may mean, droppers, being unable to signpost some things for awhile, at least today.

I pity the Hungarians, Bulgarians too for that matter now that they have fiddled their way into the €urozone.

Scout camp

A good piece of punditry but two caveats for us … one is that it’s American scouting … another is that it gets into the male on male abuse but fails to tackle the influx of girls later, plus Woke left sleaze, drugs etc.

My own experience of scouting was first as a Cub, usual thing for kids my age … DYB DYB DYB etc … and being really angered by the cow of an Akela (a woman) who made another kid Senior Sixer. This was the second time I saw that certain types did not like me one little bit. In blogging these days, it’s par for the course but back then, it was: “What did I do wrong?”

Don’t get me wrong … I did much wrong, a right little spotty herbert, into anything going … but this was something else.

Then we get to the abuse … in Cubs, no recollection of any by anyone but once I clocked over 12 years, something certainly changed. I did a stint as a child model, don’t know how, imo, was ugly as kids went, plus adults were starting to feel me up and I’m thinking WTH is this? Even my grandmother commented on my legs. You whaaa?

A company director, a gay man down the road, a CofE minister, chaplain. So there was that.

I went on to Scouts and the first camp came up. Can’t remember but think six to a tent … palliases, sleeping bags. Now we were the juniors and the talk was all about the big tent with the 14 year olds, sex maniacs. We decided to shut out any of that lot if they tried busting in. The scout leaders? Nah, hardly saw them … men in shorts plus women.

Someone suggested we try some sodomy, two in a sleeping bag. Never did it, it was a turnoff, the very idea. My parents visited on parents day and I asked to go home. My father obviously misunderstood and took the stoic Tyke “stick it out” line. Sigh.

My only other experience was at 14 on school camp when a fellow camper and I playacted it one lunchtime, nothing happened but lots of noise. That was the last time any of that sort of thing came close because firstly, I really was abused by “respectable” men, plus women in a couple of cases … turned me off for life. Plus the reappearance in our lives of … drumroll … girls.

Thought a couple of times since those days … would I have if it had been a girl on that first camp? With her I mean? For sure I’d say, plus we did have the girl next door over at my place, my mate and I one day … so yes, we 100% would have. Which is why I’m wondering why the presenter did not mention the girls joining scouts. Talk about open invitation to teenage pregnancies.

Whole thing now is impossible I’d venture to say … the scouting movement … the hoe culture is now ubiquitous.

6. Ashton Ward on X

More than 3 million views on X in 12 hours, but nothing in the MSM. None of the major mainstream media (MSM) outlets—such as the BBC, The Guardian, Sky News, ITV, The Times, The Daily Mail, or The New York Times—appear to have reported on this specific event as of June 2, 2026.

The X post (below) from Rupert Lowe MP (Independent, Great Yarmouth / Restore Britain) shares a video clip from his speech in a Westminster Hall debate on grooming gangs / rape gangs, held on Monday, June 1, 2026 (starting around 4:30pm). In it, he reads graphic excerpts from survivor testimonies gathered during his crowdfunded Independent Rape Gang Inquiry (which held public hearings earlier in 2026, with a report expected soon).

The debate was triggered by a petition signed by over 260,000 people. http://hansard.parliament.uk

• The video shows Lowe reading harrowing details from the first testimonies (e.g., references to specific abuses, pregnancies, and durations), while panel members and others in the room react (some looking away or checking watches). This matches the post’s caption: “I want the world to hear what we heard.”

• Official Hansard records confirm Lowe’s remarks and the debate’s focus on survivor voices, institutional failures, data on offender ethnicity/nationality, and calls for accountability. http://hansard.parliament.uk Searches across news sources (including targeted checks of major MSM domains) turned up no articles, TV segments, or reports on this June 1 debate or Lowe’s reading of the testimonies.

Pre-debate coverage existed about the petition and upcoming discussion (mostly on social media or YouTube channels), and the broader grooming gangs issue / Lowe’s inquiry has received sporadic past mention (e.g., BBC responses to complaints about limited coverage of the February 2026 hearings, or older Guardian/Sky pieces on the topic). http://bbc.co.uk

Coverage of the inquiry itself has been limited overall, often confined to alternative/right-leaning outlets, social media, or parliamentary records rather than legacy MSM. The event’s recency (less than 24 hours old when the post went viral) may explain some delay, but no prominent MSM pickup is evident yet.

This fits a pattern noted by critics (and acknowledged in some BBC complaint responses): the grooming gangs scandals (particularly patterns involving organized groups targeting vulnerable girls) have historically received uneven or cautious mainstream coverage, despite multiple official inquiries (Rotherham, Rochdale, Telford, etc.) and ongoing calls for a full national statutory probe.

Lowe’s independent effort was crowdfunded precisely because many felt official channels had been insufficient.

Dorset Apple Cake

Photo Corfe Castle, Dorset

By our Steve….

Dorset – Apple Cake. Believe me I’ve tasted a few but one they sell in the tea room next to Corfe Castle is hard to beat..

Ingredients:

110g unsalted butter, chilled and chopped, plus extra to grease
225g plain flour
1½ tsp baking powder
110g caster sugar
4 eating apples
100g natural yogurt or soured cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp demerara sugar

Method:

Heat the oven to 160°C fan/gas 4 and butter the cake tin. In a large mixing bowl, rub the butter and flour together with your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Stir in the baking powder and a pinch of salt, then put the bowl in the fridge.

Put the caster sugar in another mixing bowl. Peel, core and chop the apples into bite-size pieces, adding them to the sugar and tossing as you go. When all the apples are chopped, give the fruit a good stir so any sugar at the bottom of the bowl is distributed over the fruit. Tip the sugary apples into the flour mixture, then stir in the yogurt/soured cream and vanilla extract. This will create a thick batter (it will seem like there is more apple than batter).

Pour the batter into the prepared tin, pushing it to the edges and spreading it out evenly. Smooth the top, then sprinkle with the demerara sugar. Bake for about 40 minutes, or until golden and a skewer pushed into the centre comes out clean. Leave the cake in the tin for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely 🙂
