QR codes have been used all over the place nowadays and have been for some time. QR codes were pushing barcodes out and any new apps for a few years now have used QR codes. They are on peoples sites, business cards and CVs and that never happened with barcodes because there was no use for them at that level.
It was only a matter of time before people started going back and updating their systems.
