In 1980, I went on a trip to Oberammergau by bus … the bus stopped near or before Dover … at a Wimpy’s … in Paris, later, I was confined to my hotel room, as sick as a dog. It put me off Wimpy forever. Never had that issue at Little Chef.

Never had a burger there as I recall. Used to go there for lunch whilst at college for two fried eggs and chips for £1!
The Wimpey in Poole Town was there since at least the mid-sixties. Remember going in there with my Mum when I was in short trousers. Back then, before supermarkets, after we’d finished shopping at the greengrocers, butchers, etc., she’d treat me to a hamburger before we caught the bus home. It was always busy. Gone now of course.
