As far as I know there are two US Carrier Strike Groups in the Middle East, one in the Red Sea (USS Harry S. Truman) the other in the Eastern Mediterranean (USS Carl Vinson). The latter has the F-35C. With regard to F/A-18 losses we should cut them some slack as they are in a zone of conflict and with an upward tempo things do go wrong. James, is always walking near the edge intended or not. When one gets up against the edge of anything, possessing a keen and clear insight, a discerning spirit is a blessing. An alertness is needed as well as consistency…but not so stuck in the same ole that things cannot be learned or discovered. Searching for Truth is the focus.
I appreciate the contributions and comments here by terrific people with sharp and thoughtful minds and dear souls. Much food for thought is presented daily by the unofficial (but known) team.
James has such an ability to have a thread going, sharing much thematic info and insight. There is also much coveted stand-alone tid bits. Along with that we are provided by him and several, several others, of whom we are aware, great entertainment via music and film, radio plays, etc. We are provided info regarding history, geography and more using links and certainly using historical photos and videos. Among those things we have how-to videos and quizzes although much is beyond my ability level….especially those horrid matchstick puzzles that used to be featured on occasion! Gardening and crafting ideas and results are provided as well which inspires and calms the spirit.
In a slightly lighter time we were provided wonderful plans about James’ boat building project. He discussed his plans and redesigns, improvements for years. People from other lands who sailed the seas and/or built boats were introduced to us.
Das boot may have not have been completed but it was a grand time keeping up with it all.
I recall some kill-joy insisting James was too old. Heaven’s to Betsy! It kept him young and his mind click clicking! Times change. The world changed drastically and health and age did take him out of that particular game as the kill-joy insisted. So what he didn’t get to finish! The planning stage along with the anticipation of the boat and travels is half the fun! So he had half the fun. And quite a bit of the project got done. We were able to be a part of it all if we wanted which kept us clicking along too.
There are standards here but not to the point of too much prudishness whereby we would miss important info, thoughts, and humour.
Grabdad’s passing is sad. Prayers for his wife, daughter, grandchildren and friends. It will happen to each of us. That is a sure thing. May God rest his soul. He be will be missed.
