Saturday [9 to 11]

(0900) Gates poisoned sky out there. (0931)

11. Virginia G

Rolf, in his PMQs coverage today, had this as the intro:

Uh huh. Interesting extra to me though is my starting to think along similar lines about Virginia G. Yes, there can alwys be a staged murder, which always suggests direct agency involvement, replete with denials … but there’s also a remotely administered way an agency cannot be implicated … over time, they mess with everything from her doctor, shrink, water pipes, even building a chemical factory nearby …

… result not unlike the effect of the chemtrails and vaxxes, but with greater success at protecting the agency. Yes, technically she takes herself out after a long, drawn out campaign … but they still drove her to it. Even whispered phone calls at intervals would do that, would wear her down if isolated.

For mine, I don’t give a damn if she did extort from Them, if she kept pestering Them … she was really messed up … she might be entirely innocent, who are we to say? Irrelevant … what they did was unconscionable.

9. Anyone like maps?

Now they’re doing it to Jago

It used to be called netiquette but the term it’s derived from, having died an ignominious death, judging by the defecating in the streets, the knifings etc. … well any sort of ethics by late Gen X to Gen Zee or anyone woke, are a thing of the past.

But with some oldies, new to the net in the last few years … their eyes light up … one trick is to read something, wait a halfday or day, then run it, altered, as if it’s their own.

Now … what do net ethics entail? Hmmmm, on a scoop of some kind, yes … you must attribute … I try to do that within the screenshot.

On most fayre, already widely reported, just go for it … it would have to be a greedy n’er-do-well who tries to make a drama of those and I respond, on those rare occasions, with Arkell v Pressdram.

Quotes definitely need attribution … sometimes I just run the url behind the name in the text.

However … and this is a big however … often, esp. in my case, the blogger does not wish to be associated with me, thank you very much … not respectable, you see, one of those konspiracy truthers dontchaknow. Even one of those farrighters. Now I can fully ustd a fellow pundit not wishing my name tainting him or her … there’s such a thing as respektability, right?

Yet there are still (cough) net ethics.

5. DAD at 1031

a) The Constitutional Council on Thursday censored certain provisions of the transport security law adopted last month, notably those “allowing the use of coercion by private agents.” The law provided that SNCF and RATP security forces could “force” any person disturbing “public order” to “leave” train stations, bus stations, or vehicles.

b) The town of Noyon [provided …] assistance from a municipal police officer when withdrawing money from ATMs, to address the concerns of seniors, like 74-year-old Jeannette: “Having a police officer accompany me gives me more peace of mind.”

c) Removing the UK’s classification of Hamas as a terrorist organisation would not only be an insult to the thousand-plus victims of October 7th and beyond but would also place Jewish communities in Britain at great risk, the Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) has warned.

4. From TDS this morning

It was reported this week that “for the first time” Yvette Cooper, the Home Secretary, has ordered officials to publish an official “migrant crime league table”. Her decision is being heralded as a big win for opponents of mass immigration. Robert Jenrick, the former Tory leadership candidate, was quoted as saying that “following over a year of pressure from campaigners, including my own attempt to change the law”, there has been a “breakthrough”. However, this seems like an overstatement.

In the first place, the figures that Cooper has ordered officials to publish correspond to “offences committed by foreign criminals living in the UK while awaiting deportation”, which are a subset of all offences committed by foreign nationals. For example, many offences committed by foreign nationals currently residing in British prisons will presumably be excluded.

Saturday [1 to 3]

(0314) Middle of our night. (0414)

3. Pammy’s made an arrest of a judge

… plus this:

More later, I need sleep, deliveries coming mid morning.

2. Late evening, middle of the night

… while I’m asleep, the antipodaeans are up and early blogging, the Americans and Canadians are just getting into evening gear. And two stories dominate from across the pond … here’s one:

1. This daily timeline

… these diverse approaches. In one way, we’re on a hiding to nothing here and the analogy of us being at our lighthouse on the rocky point, with tavern, chapel, carpark, stables, outhouses behind is apt, it fits the nature of HQ, the main tavern.

The analogy, motif, is less that this is a crossroads than that it’s somewhere people drive off the main drag to take a breather at. But the clientele are as diverse as any within the west or Christendom can get.

Everything is diverse … esp. people’s walks of life … there’s very much a Miles Mathis or Redacted perspicacity in insights … good insights though quite cryptic in presentation, through to solid reports like Steve’s and DAD’s, a whole lot of different elements stopping by and as the tavern publican, I say it enriches, often surprises.

”Enriches” is a dirty word today, as is “diverse”, when it’s taken outside our western, culturally Christian plus liberty heritage. Not explaining well. A Texan is going to have a certain way about him, from a walk of life, as is a Cambridge academic here or techie or soldier or whatever … what chance they can all get along, understand one another?

But some do. I understand Redacted’s faith perspective, I could talk 6th trump to him, but there are others sitting in the tavern who also understand the questions about JD, for example, then Andy comes in from the Old Labour tradition … what chance there’s not sniping, even civil war?

MMutR long ago said there are only certain items of interest to him. Duh, of course that’s so … but go back to Lord of the Rings when the hobbits set out and lodged at an inn and there, in a corner, was long tall Strider. What chance he and one of the barflys could communicate, find common ground? Certain people are going to gravitate to certain people but all sorts of snippets appear and then eventually fall off the end of the page in real time.

To my mind, that’s a different sort of diversity to that of completely alien cultures … there are common elements. I can eat Tex-Mex, southern US might like Yorkshire pud, not sure about real ales. I like food with a roux base, there are French sauces which go beautifully, I like Viennese crossroads culture, Giorgia’s flailing hands in central Italy, the educated English droll manner, the reserve, the swearing.

Just been reading about the loss of civility in society, the way people won’t lift a hand to help someone now, so much road rage. That’s upbringing without the Christian God, also bad parenting, fathers not in the home, no ethical bedrock, but also pig ignorance of our heritage … and if you let other savage heritages flood in and overrun you, what chance the west can survive?

I have this against Texas … how did Kemp get to build a deathcult city? Is it just out of Austin? He’s bad news, Paxton seems better. But we need eyes and ears on the ground there, reporting in, ditto from mid Russia and from Bavaria, for example. Does it make any sense for me to celebrate St George’s Day in an insular way, which I did, but at the same time, check what Vlad and Pete Hegseth are up to? Plus Melbournites at dawn ceremonies?

I don’t claim to know how to reconcile all this. I believe in Christian charity but towards cultures inimical to ours? No way. Thus we have tavern rules here … not many but some. …/END.
