Sunday [17 till close of play]

(1619) Almost evening all.

25. The dating of Resurrection Day

Apologies but am going to throw this in as food for thought, then crash, go to bed if you’ll permit. Here goes:

The Synod of Whitby was convened to settle a controversy about the correct method of calculating the date of EasterEarly Christians had probably originally celebrated Easter concurrent with the Jewish Passover (see Passover, Christian holiday), which was held on the fourteenth day of the first lunar month of the Jewish year, called Nisan, the day of the crucifixion according to John 19:14. However, the First Council of Nicaea in 325 decreed that Christians should no longer use the Jewish calendar but should universally celebrate Easter on a Sunday, the day of the resurrection, as had come to be the custom in Rome and Alexandria.[5]

The full moon in the UK was on April 13, 2025, at 01:22 BST. It’s known as the Pink Moon. This full moon is also a supermoon, meaning it will be closer to Earth than usual, making it appear slightly larger and brighter.

USA: It will officially reach its full moon phase at 8:22 p.m. EDT (0022 GMT April 13)

So Sedar or lamb or Passover is always full moon.

Jewish sources say Passover in 2025 is:

Evening of Sat, 12 Apr 2025 – Sun, 20 Apr 2025, presumably at dusk.

Last evening therefore started 15 Nisan, day of unleavened bread and lamb.

[12] And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?
[13] And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.
[14] And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
[15] And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us.
[16] And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
[17] And in the evening he cometh with the twelve.

However, Jews can’t go anywhere on Shabat, which this year is 14 Nisan so it must be the day before, 13 Nisan, when the lamb is eaten. Or in our terms, 11th April, evening. Thus he is crucified 12th April in the morning, lies in state on our 13th, rises or at least is discovered early on the 14th … tomorrow morning. Hmmmm.

Of course, have the Jews actually got their dates right? Plus it matters not really about 2025 but more what happened when in that year somewhere around AD30. Coming back to 2025, Shabat is evening April 11th till dusk on the 12th. The Passover seder is on the evening of the 12th, also full moon.

That was Jesus’ Last Supper. The crucifixion is commemorated as being early today, our calendar, now in the tomb, inc. our Monday, then on Tuesday, our calendar, He is discovered gone from the tomb. That would be Resurrection Day, were we to follow the Jewish dating, the Jewish calendar. Therefore, Palm Sunday events took place Tuesday just gone.

JH: I was watching Sun Mat too, reviews were good, the main protagonists seemed up to it, though 1940s wisecracking of course … had just reached closing credits and if you’d seen the last five minutes yourself, you’d know why I was hit like a smackeroo blurby right between the eyes when I immediately clicked on NOWP 1020 and here’s what Steve had posted:

I knew nothing about those two items when I started watching the film … well I’d clean forgotten … just coming back now.

15. The quisling Pence

It’s traditional for alt-pundits to say, “I told you so,” years later when people start to wake up but regulars here will know I’ve been on about Pence and Ryan since Trump’s first inauguration ceremony … seeing those two on stage and the looks from them. This was followed up by Polly, with the details.

8. What I’ve been saying about Kristi for some time now

… this is a screenshot, not a clip:

I’d prefer to wait for girls to criticise girls first … for obvious reasons … not least because they do not hold back, whereas we do pull our punches a bit. Since time immemorial, girls have been desperate to be in the thick of the action, at the coalface, Wonderwomen, dressed in all the right warrior gear, hair perfect … and the instant a Man objects, he’s the worst misogynist on earth … a demi-childish reaction, not unlike in Finding Nemo … which I believe is behind so many of the gang rapes/murders.

For goodness sake … just look at the old Scottish Tam Lin, where Janet is stylised as defiant and totally gone on the bad boy. How many modern films revolve around the theme? Girls can do anything just as well as men, even better yada yada.

And they can do some things better … just look at gymnastics and dance … but not coalface stuff which is too brutal for most men. And this last is behind the “no men in women’s sports” campaign. The moment girls are allowed into something not their natural field, complications ensue … 100%. Further complicated by the male instinct to protect and love the lasses. Which is why honeypots are used by govt agencies.

And onto the topic came this some years back:

By the way, that mass of hair is covering something but that distracts from the message above, is ungallant of me.

4. Universities as leftist hotbeds

TDS today (article link via navbar above, to Daily Sceptic) has an article on “Tortoise”, which is involved with …

“… an outfit called “C3DS” based at the University of Exeter – which is also home to the ‘Greenpeace Research Laboratories’, or ‘science unit’, the origin of much fake news. The Centre for Climate Communication and Data Science, or C3DS, claims to “improve strategic communications to deliver meaningful action on climate change”, which it supports with “AI and social science research”.

One of the observations I’ve made of such outfits that now litter UK campuses is that their ideology, and often their corporate benefactors’ names, are written on their doors, and that is manifestly a problem for ‘knowledge producers’ and so-called ‘scholarship’.

[…] C3DS’s co-founder, Dr Saffron O’Neill, for example, was the grantee of £1,654,675 from anonymous ‘philanthropic’ funders in 2023-25. In 2021, she was co-beneficiary of a £6,249,934 “ESRC Climate and Environment Leadership Grant” – public money funnelled through universities to service a political agenda.”

This “Tortoise”, by the way, is involved in using any means … from direct action to AI to whatever … to “deny”, “delay” or “control” any counter Net Zero material going out. Howso? Unlimited funds behind them, meaning mainly bribing platforms in some designated way. Meaning corrupt institutions or look the other way, which comes to the same thing.

Universities have long been hotbeds of marxism or neo-Marxism or whatever the Tawney or Bernard Shaw fashion is of the day … big deal, one might say, if you have no issue with the mendacious misuse of publicly gotten moneys, plus funds from “benefactors”, all of the same ideological agenda.

The biggest problem for normies out in society is that they’re being bathed in tosh and ordure 24/7, 7/52, 52/decade … not once letting up, not once allowing counterviews, back by data, the slightest traction.

That’s it.

Sunday [1 to 3]

(0037) Middle of the night situation again, which is no great shakes as it at least gives the nightowls something else to look at. Hope you’re sleeping as snug as a bug in a rug. I’m off there again for an attempt at sleep n2. (0204)

2. The helicopter crash in more detail

Just a note on Vince … he’s American but the dubbed text made me smile because of the nearly hysterical man in the clip who nonetheless seemed to know a fair bit and he’s certainly not American.

MMutR was here yesterday and we were discussing precisely this thing, plus the mast bumping of the previous post on the issue, also yesterday.

The thing which struck me, a layman, was just how fragile the whole rotor attachment to mast is .. it has a circular motion, plus up and down motion, plus twisting and flexing motion, let alone dipping for fwd thrust … all on the top of that thin mast, with body and six people below it?

Also given thermals, birds, congested airspace and all sorts … even on a regular flight path. Yes, regular is good but contingency allowance is also vital with such an “unsafe”, in my book, piece of machinery.

My last catamaran was a racing boat, it was built to tolerances, inc. alloy beams, very light but engineered well. However, all machines develop fatigue in certain places after a certain time, in its expected lifespan. The reason I was thrown from her on that last fateful day, about fifteen feet through the air, whilst she happily sailed on, was that my checks were all vulnerable parts except one … my own trapeze wire … and that’s what snapped, nothing on the boat itself.

Yet that error was only half life threatening … there were actually options, inc. swimming for shore. In a copter … there are no options. Also combine this post item with the one above it, Sun 3. Last thing … consider two versus three blade if ever planning to go by copter.
