1. Op Ed with Housekeeping

Every so often (perhaps two weeks), it’s worth repeating the Unherdables rationale, both for any “stumble upons” and also for “watchers”. Regulars are called “patrons” according to our backstory, our allegory, which has us as a corner of land out on a rocky point jutting into the sea, with a lighthouse, auto but serviced, behind it various buildings such as a tavern of a number of rooms, plus a chapel across the carpark, plus a number of outbuildings for accommodation, stables for horses etc. etc. Behind the point, the recessed shoreline forms a bay and pier to tie up at.

a. This site began in 2006 as “nourishing obscurity” (the details can be found by navigation) and it’s a play on words, with one sense being that we keep our powder dry and hidden, choosing only those battles we wish to engage on and no others, plus there is another strange soc-med rationale behind our modus operandi:

b. We don’t in the least tout for business … traffic and stats being the least of our concerns. If someone stumbles upon us … you’re initially welcome if of good heart … gradually accepted as a regular patron … but that expression means fiercely anti-Wokery, civilised, not in the least here to troll. This site does not debate touted “benefits” of Wokery … we are already firmly for “trad”, for our western culture as it was, including your trad across the pond … Founding Fathers, Constitution etc., but also with our friends the common folk in all western nations, plus other nations recognising our traditional God, e.g. Russia, eastern Europe in general, Greece, the Antipodes, plus friends of good heart elsewhere as well … a big tent.

c. You’re not going to get far unless you use our navigational tools, including cryptic references, euphemisms, buried data, as we make no attempt to spoonfeed whatever … there are reasons it must be like this, in the same way the samizdat worked in the soviet union, plus the French underground. The entire purpose is to provide as close to truth as possible, on the grounds that there is a war going on right now … one side using flat out lies, manipulation, indoctrination, censorship, destruction of the west … and the other, us, being “trad”.

d. Within that “trad” range of humanity, there are many walks of life, levels of education, intensity of views, hobbyhorses, angles … but always civilised, as distinct from the savagery we’re seeing displayed out there just now, which we’re railing against. We’re a mass of unherdable cats in a way, incapable of being regulated into Unithink, Uniparty and utterly refusing to knuckle under, except to each of our traditions. We’re cynical of the motives of those “above” … we keep within the spirit of agreements, e.g. to our cyber-platforms. Hierarchy? Yes, there is, based around your contributions to enlightening us, correcting, supplying, engaging … obviously so … in no way do I think of myself, the titular admin, as the font of all wisdom, though I can go down rabbit holes as well as some of you, plus I’m not bad at maintaining infrastructure and redacting.
