12. In order of horror

a. The supermarket I get deliveries from bggred me around the entire day. Two phone calls later, which at least got to the right people, and I was given a time frame. No one turned up, I went to phone a third time. They tried to say the van had broken down.

I think it was one of two things … either the issue is me, personally because I complained (see Ashley Simon today on X) or much worse than that … everyone was bggred around today. Why? Foodstuffs running out, deliveries not arriving, Burnham’s stock up three days test run.

I do have some food, other things, but not a lot. Shall know the situation better tomorrow.

b. The NHS, unable to get me to be explored, were hitting me something awful about mrna jabs, then wanted blood (I presume they’ll also get the mrna in that way).

c. They want us away from gas boilers and into the ruinous things. So they’ve upped the requirements, trying to make it impossible. However, my place passed.

Despite all that, the one which has really incensed me and many others I’ll run as tomorrow’s main post. It involves Gosport.

Coming back for now to the food delivery … there was a curious thing … actually two curious things. The first was that, near the end of my first waiting period, a white van went past and the driver was the very person I’d put in a formal complaint about two weeks ago. He turned around up ahead and drove back past me the other way, looking over again.

In one way, I hope it is actually me they have it in for, as it means it’s not you. The other curious thing is that I pointed out to them on the phone three times that I never answer cold calls. The firm can get me anytime as they’re in my address book. No random mobile number can though. I’m thinking this really threw them today.

I asked the girl why on earth they would need to phone. Well the driver, see. No, I don’t see … why can’t a driver just deliver? My buzzer works, I see him arrive anyway, I can be with him in under a minute.

They were not happy. So they cancelled my order altogether.

  1. 12. Expect more disruptions for the next 3 or so weeks. Mentioned this before. Burgers up comms, interwebs, transport, sat-navs, voting machines (?) etc

Interwebs is already playing silly burghers.

    • Interwebs fine here.
Only shortage noticed is in Aldis cheapest bogroll however the reason for that is rebranding. They are rebranding cereals as well but they go out of stock for a week or to then reapper in the shiny new packaging one after the other.

  3. Your supermarket delivery cancellation is deinitely down to the drivers interpretation of your formal complaint and your “bellicose attitude” phone conversations. A case “oh its him. I am not delivering to that guy again. No effing way.”

As for the tale from Gosport, proceed with caution.

  4. Your non-delivery. You committed the unforgivable – you complained. Now you’ve been blacklisted most probably. Remember the days when the customer was always right? Yes well those days are over, sorry to say.

    • Yep, way back when but not now. Back in the 1960s my mum wrote a jokey letter to Walls, one of their sausages leapt out of the frying pan into the dog. A day or two later the area sales bod pitched up with some coupons, a dog bowl and a kitchen devil knife to prick the sausages. Now that was customer service!
