A short 25 minute Peter Gunn again. Last evening, I was watching the first Link Wray version of Rumble, which took off after it was banned. On the Waterfront had been in 1954, Rebel Without a Cause followed.
I couldn’t help feeling it was all poseur, playing the tough … for what reason? Motif continued in Peter Gunn but more acceptably … opens reasonably and fairly but if someone pushes it, he’ll hit back … as it should be. Looks after his Edie girl without fawning over her … nice plots in the main:

The characters are good on the good side … Mother at Mother’s Bar, the clientele … I was never into the Felonious Monk type jazz, too discordant for mine, torch singers … was more the later Crystals. And yet the series is nicely handled … it’s my older brother and sister type culture.
