We need to run with what we have for now (soon to run out), so one more of The Saint. Oh for women to still be womanly … sigh.

“Simon Templar meets Valerie North on a flight from New York to Paris. Valerie is traveling to meet her brother, Charles, whom she has not seen since childhood, due to their separation during World War II.

Upon arrival in Paris, police inform Valerie that her brother has been found murdered in the River Seine. The St. Christopher medal he wore around his neck was stolen. Simon decides to help her investigate the crime.

It is revealed that Valerie possesses an identical medal. The two medals together are the key to a valuable secret, likely related to stolen antiques or money linked to the Nazis during the war.

The main villain is Georges Olivant, a Nazi collaborator who worked with Charles during the war. Olivant kidnaps Valerie to get her medal and discover the secret. Simon must uncover the connection between the medals and the wartime treachery to rescue Valerie and bring Olivant to justice.

The episode is known for its fast pace, strong writing, and a more gritty tone than typical for the series, featuring flashbacks to wartime resistance heroism and an exploration of the raw memory of collaboration in post-war Europe. “

JH: Looking at that thumbnail, sorry to bore you further on male-female but I always tried to move her into a position of control should she wish, which sitting like that did, while she was trying to get me thinking I was in control … whilst she was actually all along. It worked until the harder stuff was required, via her signal … whole thing is a constant dance is it not? Or game of chess.

  1. “Upon arrival in Paris, police inform Valerie that…..”.

Unfortunately the video is not viewable in France.

    ……

JH: Ah, damn. Possibly because it’s a resistance v Nazis storyline.
